Football Manager 2008 - Released!

Year is 2011, I'm the manager of Cameroon. Started as the manager of Falkirk. I finished first two seasons on 4th place, and after second season in Falkirk the manager of Cameroon was sacked for bad performance in African Cup of Nations. So I applied for job and they hired me. At the half of third season in Falkirk it became obvious that I couldn't do better than a safe mid-table position, so I resigned.

So far as Cameroon's manager I have been 3rd in the African Cup of Nations and qualified to second round in World Cup(lost to Italy on extra-time, their winning goal was an offside too... this game is way too realistic, Italy always wins somehow :p).

Well, we won our first league game 5-2 against Zarazoga. Pretty impressive win, especially since if the refs weren't blind/mentally challenged/blowing the game, it would have been 5-0.

We're in good shape, even with the depleted backline. I definetely need more defenders though, because I have 6, usually only one sub. I have a tough stretch coming up, and I need to win 3 out of 4 games.

Mika Ääritalo is way too good in this.

Yay! I have it!

You all, buy Mika Ääritalo. He is way too good in this compared to RL.

I found him randomly and he made it in the Chelsea first team, you will be pleased to know. Liked coming in from the flank with a shot or header.

Some teenager that plays for TPS' junior team scouted TPS for SI, and screwed it up really bad. Luckily patches fixed Ääritalo's amazing potential.

Year is 2014(IIRC), I'm the manager of Zenith Petersburg. Got sacked from Cameroon after losing to Nigeria in ACN quarter finals, made a short visit in FC Dallas and Egypt, then joined Inverness CT. I finished 8th in the first season(media prediction was 11th, when I joined Inverness was a really crappy team, but I made it much better), and after 15 games I was 3rd in SPL. Then Zenith came and offered me a job with a transfer budget of 23 million euros. So I joined.

Man, how many leagues do you have playable?

Highest league from Scotland, England, Finland, France, Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, USA and South Africa. I think those are all. And I don't even have a superduperhypercyber new computer, FM doesn't need as much power from computer as one would think.

South Africa???? WHy??

Why not? ;)

It would be neat to win the African Champions League some day... I almost went to Orlando Pirates after resigning from Falkirk, but decided not to.

Me and my bro recently had an epic netgame (we play netgames even though he's in the room across the landing - we open our doors and can see/talk to eachother though, we're not that sad..) in which he was Leeds and I was Fulham, lasted to about 2015 before we started dominating everything but it was without a doubt the best game I've had on any game in the series, even beats my Newcastle/Padova/Lecce/back to Newcastle/St.Albans/Xerez game which I played to 2030ish on 00/01... Proudest point of that game was winning world cup 2006 with china then 2010 with n.ireland... ahh good times.

No wonder I . .. .. .. .ed up so much in School and College with games such as these about, eh.

Ha, just found an old screenie of it, not 2008 I know, but what the hell.

An update to that Sevilla game I started a long time ago. In January, I bought Dimitar Berbatov for an obscene amount of money because I have a man-crush on him. We still finished 6th in the league after going winless in our last 4 games. Kanoute finished the year slowly after starting off at a blistering pace. I spent the summer buying Pablo Aimar and Julio Baptista. In 2008-2009, we started with a hard schedule of Deportivo (road), Real Madrid (home), and Barcelona (road). However, the Kanoute/Berbatov combo up front seemed to finally work with each netting a goal in the 2-2 draw vs. Deportivo. Kanoute scored a quick goal against Real Madrid, but Raul ran wild against a weak Sevilla defense to defeat Sevilla 2-1. Baptista paid off with a goal vs. Barcelona, but the defense was unable to hold and fell 2-1. Pablo Aimar, after a back strain, made his Sevilla debut.

My defense has let up 6 goals in 2 games. CFC football experts, I need young defenders to solidify my defense. Please recommend me any 17-23 year old defenders, especially right backs that I should consider signing.

Well, after a half-year of being told that Sevilla would not renew my contract, they offered me a bigger one. We're looking good for the future, especially with Berbatov and Kanoute up top. Duda is doing well, as are Baptista and Aimar. De Mul is becoming vital to this team along with Adriano. Mosquera commands the defensive line and gets help from Cannavaro and Del Horno and Palop is still in goal. Several Sevilla-trained youngsters are making their senior team debut and the 2009-2010 season could be an exciting one for Sevilla.

EDIT: Midway through the 2009-2010 season, the Cameroon job became available after a poor showing in the African Nations. My first challenge was World Cup 2010, where we qualified for the 2nd Round (lost to Brazil 2-1). In the 2012 and 2014 African Nations, we finished 2nd and 4th respectively. Expecting little in the World Cup, we got 2 points in the group stage, yet still made into the knockout round. First, we upset Germany 1-1(PK). Then, a 2-1 victory over Australia gave us a semi-final birth with Argentina, who we lost to in penalty kicks. We beat Portugal 2-1 in extra tie to finish 3rd. I felt it was my time to go, so I resigned. (At this point, Italy has won 3 straight world cups.) Seeing an opportunity, I applied for the open jobs at Brazil and France. Now, I am the head coach of the French national tea.
