Ok, to make my long story short, does any one else have problems with 6600GT video cards ? dunno why but none of civ4 series works fine for me... random crashes, random freezes and so on... tried every posible help that i found on the forums, nothing helps. And yes today i got my copy of civ4:bts (not pirated if ur interested) installed expansion and got rly angry... SAME crashes as original civ4. Yes, game is with latest patches and my pc with latest drivers, just to make sure checked on driveragent.com and it shows 100% good and newest drivers, so WTH? Installed civ4;bts on my loptop and yes - works fine (god damn it), but my loptop too crapy to run without lags... soooo any suggestions? (pretty sure i tried everything i found on these forums)

PC:
Celeron(R) CPU: 2.6ghz, 2gb ram, 120gb raptor hdd, Asus N6600GT 128 ddr3 video card

Loptop:
AMD CPU: 1,6ghz, 512ram, 40gb hdd, Ati Mobile M200 128 video card

*cry* *sigh*

I have Palit 6600GT, no problems with it at all.

I think I had random freezes with CIV4 Vanilla + 6600GT, not sure what fixed them... I fiddled A LOT with my GFX card and MoBo back then, so there's a chance that some setting on 6600GT doesn't like CIV4?

i rly doubt it, cuz it's the only game i cant play... and yes just found that technology tree is all messed up  no icons etc, Firaxis i rly hate you

maybe someone know what is this error?

I have a 6600GT and it works fine for me. I used to have CTDs back in the day with vanilla but haven't had any problems since I patched it.

It could be that the problem lies in some other hardware. But, from the sounds of the exception you got, it seems like its more of an application problem than a hardware problem. Is it installed properly? Did you try doing a complete fresh install in a different location? Do you have mods installed?

But i'm not really an expert on this, so I'm just guessing.

thnx for trying for help but i tryed reinstaling, instaling, formating, cleaning temps and so on and so on, no luck... no mods installed, fresh civ4 with fresh civ4;bts. The real dillema is tech tree, something is wrong with it... sometimes new game after load shows tech treenot the new game dialog with some text, then i press "exit" i return to game and duh - the interface is gone...

6600GT here and apart from the wonder movies crashing, have had no problems.
If it was me having problems, Id probably start by playing around with my CMOS settings and 3D settings.

6600GT here, the game crashes every few turns. This is my parent's computer; the much older computer at my own place doesn't have any problems with BTS.

See the attachement for an image of the error message. After that one it gives a runtime error.

I'm running BTS on the highest graphical settings, so I turned off High Res Textures, or whatever the option was called. Doesn't help.

I only have 300MB of free space on the C: drive, but both the game and the Windows pagefile are on G:, so this shouldn't matter.

EDIT: fixed this by setting AA to 2 instead of 4 and setting graphics to Medium instead of High.

6600GT works OK for me. Make sure you have updated your graphics drivers, and that the details is not on the highest settings.

If you're getting python errors, sounds like a separate issue, and suggest you need to reinstall. Is Civ4 patched?
