For all who can't install the game

Apparently dozens of people on this forum are reporting the same problem I am having, Civilization IV won't install.

CD 1 installs, you put in cd 2, and get Feature Transfer error, feature default feature, error Catastrophic Failure.

The advice everyone's giving is to return the game and try another copy of it, although apparently many are having to try multiple times before they finally find a copy that works.

I'd like people to post details of their systems so we can see if there is anything we all have in common. Is there some incompatibility with some aspect of our computers, or are they just straight out bad cd's?

I have an amd 2800 cpu, 1 gig of ram, geforce 6800 gt video card, asus a7n8x-x motherboard with onboard sound, windows xp, msi dvd-rom drive. All drivers updated.

I am having the same problem. It appears that disk 2 is bad and it can take multiple attempts to find a good set. Since the game does eventually install it has nothing to do with our computers. I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Yeah, I guess my original message should be ignored. I took the thing back to Best Buy, got a replacement, and the replacement installed just fine. So the problem is indeed just bad cd's.
