I am getting windows xp....right now i am running ME and my comp always crashes. Will Xp help this at all? What are some other benefits of Xp? Should I get home, pro, or coporate?

Also for the people who would know....I am looking for some easy to follow diagrams to build a programmer that programs PIC 12c508 chips....thanks alot.

XP REALLY helped my systems stability. Like 1000000 fold!!!

I'd get anyone without activation. ;)

But essentially they are all the same. The all look and act the same. The Pro can go on Domains where the Home can't. The Pro/Corporate probably has more server functions then the home....but the home is cheaper.

Really up to you....

xp will help a lot.....
I had 98 before getting xp and it was A LOT better
home edition is probably the best if you don't have a server on your computer becouse it is optimized for games, or at least that is what my friend who workes on Microsoft says.....

I rarely have system crashes now that I have XP on my system. I went from 2 or 3 crashes a week on Windows 2000 Advanced Server or Professional to 1 crash every 2 weeks or less with Windows XP Professional Beta RC 2. I had 2+ crashes a day on Win98 and I am glad I never went to ME, I heard that was worse. Even if you had to buy it XP would be the way to go, if you are going to stick with MS products.

It's supposed to be because it uses RAW TCP ports. And viruses are supposed to be easier to catch too. But I don't use MS products (Except Windows) and I haven't had a problem in 6 months.

So I consider that a rumor....or I've just been lucky. ;)

I mean...who would hack a guy on a 19.2 k connection. ;)
