What is the difference between a "fortress" and "fortifications"? I assume a fortress is what workers build which shows up on the map looking like a little pill box. But what are "fortifications"? It can't be city defenses because they are already covered elsewhere, right?

I thought that Fortifications are just Fortresses, but stronger, or Barricades I believe

it could also be outposts/radar towers

I'd assume it is one of those two things, although now I'm not sure which one

"Fortifications" misleadingly refers to a unit that is Fortified. A "Fortress" is what a worker constructs.

So when I hit the fortify command for a unit, the unit assumes the defense value placed in the fortifications field? So for instance if the value is 50, does that mean the unit only has 50% strength? Or does it mean that there is a bonus of 50% to the existing strength?

Thanks.
