You might already know the rules to this game already. The first person starts off the story with: Fortunately (Insert something good happening here) and the next person responds with Unfortunately (Insert something bad happening here) and this continues in alternating order.

For example:

First Poster: Fortunately, Larry found a dollar on the sidewalk.
Second Poster: Unfortunately, he was robbed by a hobo afterwards.
Third Poster: Fortunately, Larry was able to kill the hobo.
Fourth Poster: Unfortunately, he was arrested for murder.

I'll start:

Fortunately, Bob won the lottery.

Unfortunatley, Bob only won 50 cents.
Fortunatley, he realized gambling was stupid.

I think this is really similar to good wish/bad wish.

Your only supposed to post one sentence per post. Sorry I wasn't clear about this in the OP; I edited it to avoid further confusion. About the similarity to good wish/bad wish, I admit that this game is very alike but it differs from it in the sense that it is a story game (similar to games such as three word story and one sentence story).

Back on topic:

Unfortunately, his wife didn't and lost all of their life savings playing poker.

Unfortunately she got the kids, the house, the dog, and he is paying child support.

Fortunately for the cop, Bob runs internal affairs and didn't much care for his wife.

Unfortunately, Bob's wife had hired assassins to go after Bob in the event of her untimely death.

Unfortunately, the Life Insurance company shut down.

Fortunately, Bob's children sued the life insurance company and got a 10 Million dollar settlement.

Unfortunately, the life insurance company couldn't afford the settlement and decided to pay them in chickens.

Good News: The chickens were yummy.

Fortunately the children had a rare form of natural immunity to bird flu and after a couple of days in bed they were as fit as a fidle.

Unfortunately, they soon contracted a rare virus delivered to them via the food they had eaten while bedridden.

Unfortunate side effect of cure: Fatal in 3 day.
