Fox-05: The RNGod Strikes Back

Random leader - a chinese Qin that looks like a Khan. I wish they hadn't changed the leaderhead as I still think Khan when I met Qin (and the other way round too).

HA!!! No dicey rolls for me :D I've got it for tomorrow morning, and will play til we get our first religion ( should I aim for Taoism? )

Away we go ... and the first thing the RNGod does is plays a trick on us making me load up the wrong save.

Thankfully, I found the right save and started with no loss.

Sent the warrior to the coast to see if we have another seafood resource other than the fish .... and we do, clams. That decided it, settled in place. Set research on fishing and start on worker.

We met our long lost distant brother.

Fishing comes in, start Mysticism.

Civ4ScreenShot0002.jpg

We met this religious nut who wants to sing "Kumbaya" with us.....

Civ4ScreenShot0003.jpg

The RNGod smiled upon us, and gave us Mysticism with a couple of turns to spare.

Civ4ScreenShot0004.jpg

I decided to go for the gold and aim for Buddhism.

We then met this guy we thinks we're cute .... THANKS!!! :D

Civ4ScreenShot0005.jpg

The RNGod smiled upon us again and we founded Buddhism in 31 turns.

I stopped here.

The world as we know it in Anarchy.

Is that more jungle in the South? At least some of the North is clear for our random usage. Good job in finding yourself (re swapped leader pics) ... this could get confusing.

Nice... looks like a better start this time around :D

Now Rex gets to roll for both tasks... with the benefit of one of my lovely pointless dotmaps!

Of course, a dotmap without knowing the location of copper is utterly pointless, but what the hell... I was bored.

I would move yellow dot to make it our main production city since all other cities are hammer poor.

Great job getting Buddhism ... (FYI, OT: the little Buddha from Lama is current visiting Singapore, quite a cute little child ...)

To add on the pointless discussion to the pointless dotmap ;): yeah, move yellow a tile west to get more hills in.

Oh great. I thought you said you were aiming for Taoism?
 I thought no one reads my posts anymore ... just look at the pictures ... I would've aimed for taoism, but then I'd have played half the game already :p

I see the save, but two things conspire against me. 1) My mother in law is in town for Passover and 2) The new flat panel television I just got and on which I have yet to watch a seriously kick ass movie. (Watched The Incredibles tonight :))

I'll probably play tomorrow.

So, would you call a Friday "Good Friday" if your mother-in-law is in town? :mischief: ... or do you feel crucified?

And "The Incredibles" is your idea of kick ass???? Just a suggestion: you might put your flat panel to better use by hooking it up to your computer and play Fox-05 and DM-II (and topping it off with some turns of Jedi - A New Hope would make the whole experience awesome beyond description)

I played the New Hope save for a bit just because I was bored. Managed to take the first barb city in about 550BC, but OHH EMM GEE do the barbs get serious about taking it back :D Was a fun game actually.

lurker's comment:
Ok, can I get away with a 'you should've put some lamb's blood on your doorway so she wouldn't visit' joke?
:run:
Or is that just too obscure?

yet another SG held up by Stan Fussbucket...er, Nantucket

Playing now, you hethens! (Don't you all have some sort of resurection to celebrate today? And how come, when Jesus does it, it's Easter, but when Bruce Campbell does it, it's Dawn of the Dead?) And no, The Incredibles is *not* kick ass, hence my statement:

The new flat panel television I just got and on which I have yet to watch a seriously kick ass movie.

Sheesh! Get off my back.

Indeed, Indeed...And I did celebrate the resurrection today...that doesn't mean I can't come here demanding piously to see your turnset ;P
