Fox-05: The RNGod Strikes Back

I agree (except for the "dress them" bit). Roll 1d6 in a verifiable manner.

1. Rex apologizes to Fox via his CFC signature in some outlandish, over-the-top manner.

2. Rex insults Pholk via his CFC signature in some outlandish, over-the-top manner.

3. Rex insults Pholk via his CFC signature without overdoing it.

4. Fox insults Pholk via his CFC signature without overdoing it.

5. Fox insults Pholk via his CFC signature in some outlandish, over-the-top manner.

6. Fox apologizes to Rex via his CFC signature in some outlandish, over-the-top manner.

Edit: Or, to spice things up... 1-3 Rex changes his avatar to a Derrick Jeter (NY Yankees star shortstop) portrait. 2-6 Fox changes his avatar to some wimpy Mark Hamil portrait.

Edit2: Having problems with previous images. Thanks Ruff, for pointing out my Jeter was missing.

For 3 I'd rather: Rex composes a Heroic Epic about our journey so far that make the rest of us seem wonderful in all ways, while downplaying Rex's contribution ;p

@Rex - nice pic of Jeter!

Spoiler :
I bet he calls me an ASS

6 Someone actually plays a round of this game

 I've run out of my promite (similar to vegemite only nicer). I thought I had another jar but ... went looking when my latest was gone and ... on ho!

Not to worry, as my wife is currently visiting Syd and is planing a 'care package'!!

promite = :vomit:

That explains the woman I saw at Coles with a trolley full of vegemite, tim tams, minties and lamingtons

Game played! Personal and Team Objective met! Next objective is found or take 4 cities in 50 turns (47 remaining). Off to play cricket, fuller report, plus screenies and log to come.

I'll also include some very fox-like :gripe:

Ok, is everyone ready for Ruff's Fox impersonation? Good. Lets begin ...

[fox-on]

:gripe: I open game and check near Beijing for our current tribal goal. It appears to be 2 more cities in 25 more turns. What about two more cities? Take, found, spread religion, take a good long look at? I check back with the thread and find that it is actually build a wonder in 7 turns! :hmmn:

Fox-0121.jpg

I am playing the game and I get this ...

Fox-0129.jpg

... but I didn't do anything, none of my units are pillaging. I check the unit advisor (F5) and find that we have some units on auto-bloody-wander-about-itis and that military units (a chariot and an axe), go auto pillaging when you are at war! Why do we have units on auto-explore? :gripe:

[fox-off]

Our capital is due to generate a Great Engineer which we can rush something with in 7 turns. That would mean he was produced on the 8th and the building rushed on the 9th. Too long. I hire 1 scientist for 1 turn to generate a Great Person in 6 turns! :crossfingers:

Fox-0122.jpg

Now, for my personal objective. I roll and get 200 gold or 6XPs (F5 again). F5 is currently ...

Fox-0123.jpg

... so I need to get it to 15. Ok, someone has kindly left me at war and with a stack that clearly has direction!

Fox-0127.jpg

... so they head on down to little old Ning-hsia to say a nice big HELLO to the locals. For the loss of 1 suicide cat, we take and burn Ning-hsia and ...

Fox-0132.jpg

Personal objective met!

Now, back to the team objective. During one of my tours of our cities, I find this ...

Fox-0124.jpg

Right - a scientist pop BEFORE MY ENGINEER! That would be bad, very bad. I don't know if you can rush a wonder with a scientist but I didn't want to try. I fired those two bistards and hire ordinary plain workers, none of these shiny egg-heads for me.

The 6th turn rocks round and we have a 98% chance of getting a GE and a 1% change of getting a GS. I suppose we also have a 1% chance of getting nothing. Press enter and ...

Cai Lun (Engineer) (Great Engineer) born in Beijing

then ...

Turn 223/660 (845 AD) [28-Apr-2007 10:34:00]
Beijing begins: National Epic (25 turns) - the only wonder that is available to us

Turn 224/660 (860 AD) [28-Apr-2007 10:36:57]
Beijing begins: Granary (9 turns) (the logger cannot give you messages about finishing national wonders).

The only question I have is "Does a National Wonder count?" I'll leave that one for the judges.

I roll up our next tribal challange ...

http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1007399 (1 and a 6)
http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1007405 (50 turns!)
http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1007408 (4 cities)

Spoiler :
if you click thru you will notice that some of these read "personal objective II" ... that is because I am an idiot and "personal objective I" rolled the round number of dice.

All of that means that we have to found or take 4 cities by turn 274 (3 down, 47 left). For some reason, one of our cities was building a settler at the beginning of my round, I kept on knocking him back for military. When our tribal objective came thru, I let him finish (or continue).

Great job, Ruff. Seems like the RNGod is starting to slowly point us towards a warring path ....

If the objective says only "wonder", any wonder will suffice, be a big, small, world, national. If you managed to get us the Wonder Women, it will count too ;). I have looked through, only one objective specifically requires a World Wonder.

Wasting the GE on tiny Wonder is a bit of a pity ... but this is the RNGod's will.

A whopping 50 turns to take 4 cities? That should be easy! ... wait a minute does Khan has 4 more cities for our plucking? :dubious: maybe the first 30 turns is to allow him to build some more cities? ... hmm....

Reporting Ground Rules

The most important rule is reports should be funny. Also, you should provide adequate details (preferably screenshots) on how an objective is achieved. Normal SG etiquette applies. Standard 24hrs to post a got it, 48hrs to play and report. If you can't play, just ask for a swap or skip.

Absitively uber-tastic way to snatch victory from the ass-crack of defeat, Sr. Hi. Spotting that near-scientist was a thing of beauty. But the real question is: there's a cricket league in New York?

Ruff: (2) Increase (1d6=2)x3 exp ~ succeed
@Fox - you have my second personal objective incorrect! I rolled a 6, not a 2. :gripe: ... Hey, I could grow to love this griping about things.

Wasting the GE on tiny Wonder is a bit of a pity ... but this is the RNGod's will.
Yup - what can you do except obey!

take or BUILD. We have one settler almost done and I signed a spot somewhere that looks good for a city.

@Fox - you have my second personal objective incorrect! I rolled a 6, not a 2. :gripe: ... Hey, I could grow to love this griping about things.

I didn't check your invisblecastle log, I trust my fellow minions being mindless shouldn't have the mind to falsify rolls. But you did say 200g or 6exp. Given that the objective is to

Code:
 6 Increase (1d6)x100 gold
OR Increase (1d6)x3 exp points (per military screen)

So I assumed you roll a two, which is consistent with 200g or 6exp.

Thus, I guess the real question is not whether you rolled a 2 or a 6, but this: "did you or did you not fullfil your personal objective?"

I'm just :gripe:ing because the above two objectives are the same (rolled a 6) but you have one as a (6) (when I rolled a 3 to get 300 gold) and one as a (2) which is what I rolled to get 6XPs. I'm just look'n for a little bit of consistency here!

:bump:

That's it, I'm playing after omni_paul to keep this game moving. Sure, I don't even own Civ IV, but that's an obstacle for lesser men.
