No time to load up the save now, will do that tonight. I do have a question though: why is our troops moving so slowly? I would have think you should have captured another city in 9 turns.

Re: the RNGod, how could I forget that? It is the one of the most memorable SG. However now that BtS has quest of its own (although pitiful compared to those in RNGod , I am finding no reason to start another one.

Yeah, I have been neglecting that page of mine for a very looooong time. Maybe something to do this weekend (if I am not simultaneously UP in 2 or 3 SGs ).

I haven't seen a panther quest yet in BtS though

Looked at the save, seems like we have to speed up Notre Dame a bit with multiple redshirts. A chop on the forest just west of the BFC plus assigning the new pop that will grow next turn to work on the mine should do the trick of cutting at least 1 turn or two.

Where should we settle? I suggest the tile east of fish along the west coast, nicely placing us in between two barb cities.

Seems like there sis long north of the northern barb city.

The final Straw was when he discovered that the big boss had finally acquired Religion. Now religion he understood, he was a Titan after all but for goodness sake couldn’t the Boss puzzle out that the last religion the Titans wanted was Pacifism they should be bashing heads not preaching “Lurrve for all Mankind”

Haven’t switched religion yet but Mutal is Taoist and I did find it Ironic that it’s Taoism we have acquired.

In the meantime our Spies have been doing some exploration

and we have now have a good initial view of England and the Outer Regions of Portugal.

Portugal has Caracks in the water so we need to be wary of sneaky naval attacks

In the E our siege took a hammering taking the Mutal which on a hill and full of Longbows but should be Ok to take the Taoist capital (just visible to the East) which will be a nice choke point

And an Army is assembling ready to start rolling up the English peninsula where I suggest we just raze every city as we go. They have knights so Pike’s aren’t Optional..

Our economy is holding up with Education due in 1 and as we are getting close to the Point of razing rather than keeping all the cities we take can turn more of our cities over to pumping Military.

lurker's comment: Pretty sure they can't carry actual troops, just spies/explorers/missionaries/great people/etc - really nothing to worry about other than being in the way if you are trying to get any ships out before astronomy

As usual, haven't really got time to look at the save, so expect more comments later.

Progress is good I think. Nice story too, although Heracles was not a Titan .

We got THG and Taoism (save us one scientist bulb ), one somewhat alleviating the health problem, the other will eventually help in the happiness problem. Well done, you solve the two main domestic issue in one turnset

We are I think at a critical juncture now: we must boost our defense not only on the front cities, but also in coastal cities and the west.

We also have the decision to focus on Maya (benefits is remove unhappy factor in ex-Mayan cities), or focus on the much stronger Elizabeth or the strongest of them all -- Portugal.

I also don't understand the recommendation of razing instead of keeping. The only way we can be on par with these Deities is to control ~2 times more cities than they do. Currently, I suspect we are at most equal to Tokugawa in that respect.

Economy wise, with courthouses and an eventual Forbidden Palace, we should be fine maintenance wise (they do have the extra good points on supporting more units). Plus we probably are going to start switching to a SSE (spy and specialist supported economy), so we can always reduce the research bar. But I do agree we probably need to be more selective on which cities to keep and which to raze.

I've got it then, but will be awaiting more input since this is the critical juncture.

From the looks of things I doubt my turnset will see much war, but more on the side of defense builds and depending on the comments troop movement or finishing Maya.

Looked at the save, and am extremely perplexed.

I thought we captured Uxmal?

Did we lost it again? How did this happened? Why is it not reported?

We are in a very brittle position now, especially in the northeast. Our border cities are extremely weakly protected (only one unit), while our huge troops are deep into Maya culture where they don't have road movement benefits.

In the west, our cities are also not well protected. We must assume Elizabeth is as strong as we are, so each western city must at least have a pike, a bow (long or crossed) and a mace at the very bare minimum.

Espionage wise, we have better start concentrating on Joao or Liz to start stealing. Our current spy can stay put, and start accumulating discount.

Hmmmm....are we suppose to attach a GG to all units until the 49 is used up? I see plenty of units unattached. Or are we suppose to attach the GG as we see fit?

I want to know so I can decide whether to attach them to the existing units or to new units.
