Fox06 - Waiting For Swords

@GreyFox:

Actually that dotmap is pretty neat. Your bad jokes have to get much worse... ;) Anyway, got it !

Imhotep

I give that a 7. As a normal joke. It almost made me laugh in class.

I only see one jungle in the BFC. Shouldn't that count as a bad joke?

Yeah, I thought a lot about it too, but as I cannot see the save, I assumed Mr. Fox was right. Guess I should have :scan: a little more.

I'll give a 5 to the joke. Made me smile :D

Damned ... I never asked for Olympic judges for bad jokes ....

Let me appeal for my "badness" in the joke: The real bad joke that apparently no one caught: if you squint your eyes and inspect the dotmap carefully, you will find the BFCs are wrongly drawn, it has 5 more tiles -- i.e. it is not a square, but a 4x3 rectangle. So, the capital red BFC is drawn such that the dye is included, which is in a jungle -- therefore my comment of 2 jungles in the BFC.

:D

Oh, BTW, do play 20 turns, Timmy.

Okay, first to my bad joke:

A blind man comes into a fish store and says: "Good morning ladies..."

Don't blame me for this one, blame Fox ! ;)

As for the game: Rather uneventful turns :coffee:

Notes:

There is an Archer queued up finished in 2 turns. Whenever needed toggle between the 'mids and the Archer to finish it. We may want to consider the Great Wall first - only 16 turns...

Imhotep

Hey, guys! Nice turns so far! :goodjob:

Er.. I don't know about the Great Wall. Yes, they give GE points, but so does the 'mids and they are way more useful. 16 turns is more than half we need for the pointy thing..

Another thing I noticed... We don't have any building or unit that should give us an overflow for 2-pop whipping. The only one we have is the Worker, but the overflow is minimal.. Not worth the pop loss, IMO. The only way to speed it up is chopping outside the BFC... And chopping those forests don't give that many hammers...

Now the main reason for this post: Tomorrow is Independence Day in Brazil (holiday!! :woohoo:), so I'm going off to the in-laws. I'll be back Sunday evening so, if my turn comes (and it surely will) until Monday, better skip/swap me please!

That's a really good "bad joke" :goodjob:

There are 7 forest in our BFC, so we should chop one of the forest hills and convert that to a mine. Agree with FeedBack that we should keep focused on Pyramids. We don't really need the GW.

Boy, Asoka is near! But we should be winning the culture battle on the sugars. Good thing is since Asoka is Buddhist, we could expect a religion spread to relive our happiness problem. Try to check for OB every now and then.

When we hit 7~8 turns left on the Pyramids, we could try to grow to size 8 and whip the pyramids out. Rep will immediately take care of the red-shirt.

What's brown and sticky?

Spoiler :
a stick

Not much going on during the turn set. I MM'ed to get iron working during my set. The good news is that it's in our BFC to the north. Pyramids can be whipped next turn. Unfortunately Moscow can't grow very fast since it doesn't have a granary so research has been set on wheel for now.

Our tech rate should pick up once we get the gems online. I think wheel --> pottery --> writing will allow us to get a granary and cottage the river tiles, then build a library to start running scientists. We can grow while we wait for writing, and get at least another worker out before we build more military.

Sorry I ended up wasting the hammers that had been invested in the archer. I also signed OB with Wang, but haven't been able to get it with Hatty or Asoka.

By the way:

It's official. We're dumb.

Heh ... that's one of the worst joke ...

Great job getting IW.

We should probably farm the banana first before spending 9 turns on the gems (still wonder why this plot did not destroy the jungle like the banana did :hmm:) ... this way, we can grow faster once rep is switched on.

No point in whipping the pyramids now, I would switch back to working on the iron mine to cut pyramids in 4 turns, just in time to take care of the 3 red-shirts we would have by then.

Nevermind the archer. It was there just in case barbs appear and we need a quick switch to defenders.

I swapped FeedBack with rolo1. Play 15 or 20 turns ... your choice.

Thoughs

I would suggest building a granary and a library ( not necessarily by that order ). And going to CoL for caste would be sound too.
We need to get more happiness somehow...and some extra troops too :p
