Finally making a sensible move, Nintendo is including a free game with the purchase of a Gamecube starting Feb 9. You get to pick from four games: Metroid Prime, resident Evil 0, Mario Party 4, or Star Fox Adventures. I assume it's some kind of voucher you send in and likely you'll have to pay shipping but hell still much cheaper than buying the damn game plus you get to choose which game. $150 for a system with a game sounds like a pretty good deal, too bad I already got mine for $200 and an extra $35 for a second controller (they go for $20 now) plus an extra $50 for a game!

I've got Metroid and it's pretty awesome, I though it would be rather lame as a FPS but it's actually quite amazing.

I've played RE0 and Metriod Prime... Metriod Prime is pretty good as far as first console 'shooter' games go, though there isn't that much shooting involved compare to most games of the type. What makes the game so good is the immersive and endless environment; they did a fantastic job of creating a detailed and diverse planet to explore.

RE0 is a fantastic fun game, a few points on the scary meter. What makes it so enjoyable is how well the two character model has been implemented making it easy to switch between them. However, the game is pretty short, I rented it and burnt through it in a long weekend. Unless you're a genre fanatic, replay value will probably be limited. Great game to rent, but I wouldn't buy it.

I can't believe it took me THIS long to find this thread! :D Oh and I don't own RE0, but I own RE, which is good. MP is AMAZING! Its not an FPS - don't go into it thinking that it is one. Its FAR more along the lines of Zelda (which is coming out in March, btw ;)). Anyway, at least GC doesn't have to package TWO games with a system to sell...;) *coughxboxsoldasmuchasgamecubewiththetwogamedealbeforegamecubehadthisdeal*

you can tell im a fanboy - im starting to write in capitals!

Except the two games that come with X-Box suck... badly. I think I've had all of 10 minutes of play value out of them.

Still, can't beat free (I would have bought the system anyway).
