Friend's email address was compromised

My friend's email address was compromised. Could the my email/computer get compromised by an email from that person? Should I add their compromised email address to my blocked list? or should I do something else? Thanks

If you get any suspicious emails just ignore them. Dont open any attachments.

If youre really nervous change your password to something a bit secure, sticks numbers and evacuation marks somewhere.
