Next question for you, Rolo...What graphics mod are you using? And can I use it with Blue Marble?
I'm pretty sure it's BlueMarble + BUG mod. Though not v3.0.

I'm using:

BUG 2.30 ( need to get version 3.0 ;) )
Blue Marble 3.0
Civscale ( for the interface color and transparency.... and also to put cities a little larger ( it helps knowing what a city has just by looking at it ) )

As for tidal waves, I thought they were just tsunamis, but never mind.

Wikipedia said:
Tsunami are often referred to popularly as tidal waves. This term is inaccurate because tsunamis are not related to tides and its use is discouraged by geologists and oceanographers.

The disambiguation page for tidal wave doesn't give any specific definition, though. Rogue waves are listed, which are factors of ocean currents, but tidal wave seems just to be a misnomer for tsunami.

In your aqueduct weirdness, I find it weirder that the aqueduct goes straight through the oasis and ends at some dude's cottage.

No, volcanoes and tsunamis are the result of seismic movements in the earth's crust, not weather systems. The number of times I got angry during the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami when someone bleated on about "climate change" causing the tsunami...I am the daughter and sister of two geographers, so I've imbibed natural science along with mother's milk...

Thank you for injecting some science into the matter! People don't realize that tidal waves and tsunamis are different things.

IIRC, the earthquake and tsunami created a bubble in the earth's crust which caused a very minuscule wobble in the earth's axial rotation correct? and if it did, could this not lead to some disturbances in the normal weather pattern? cause if so it could explain some of the very abnormal weather conditions that have been occurring where i live that i've noticed since the earthquake.
