Just a heads up.

We will be archiving most of the current and past threads when the new game starts. At that point, any of these roleplaying discussions that are going on that cannot be transformed to fit the new game will need to end. In fact, it is probably best if all these threads are archived so you have a clean slate. Feel free to start new ones that make sense in an ancient context.

Also, I believe Shaitan and I do intend to participate as citizens in the new game. We will participate in discussions and vote. As a general rule, if I post in normal black text like this, I am acting as a citizen only. If you see another color, such as red , then I am acting as a moderator. Hopefully this will be a rare circumstance.

Finally, I fully support the RPG. However, please take care that this does not affect the rest of the game, as there are many citizens who do not wish to participate.

i second eyrei.
it seems to me some people are getting really personally involved too much in roleplay feature and really taking things serious and personal, which is not good!

i also want to add that:
THIS IS ONLY A GAME!

it will end with the archiving of this forum and a new(!) game starts. wipe your minds to get out any prejudice thought about citizens. many of us only played roles in this game and maybe do some other roles next game ;-)
(an interesting experiment would be for example if donsig and shaitan switched roles!)

I understand how you will archive these threads when the new game starts. Can you give us a date when that will be? And is there any way we could get a link to these threads when they are archived. I think I might need to read them occaisionally when I want to reminise.

We'll definitely keep you posted as to when things are starting up and shutting down. We're working out dates, etc, now.

I think I may actually save a personal copy of the PI #6 thread. The RPG thread will be transfered over, because much of that will pertain to the new game, as will the registry. If you can think of any other threads that need to be kept alive, please post them here.

i thought we would get ANOTHER-ONE.... :-(

but anyways:
maybe the rpg-stuff should not be taken over, but a new similar thread should be set up with the 1st post summarizing the whole thread. the thread here got so cluttered even i get confused by it ;-)

maybe the rpg-head should do a summary of all informations and we continue the discussion in there.

If there is a good summary available, that would be my preference as well. As of now, there is not one...

If they are archived, we can still look at them, but not post in them. I'm assuming it will work like the Civ2demogame, where the old forum was closed and archived, and a new one started. You can still view the old Civ2demogame forum, but not post.

We hope to get the new forums up soon and move/copy a minimal amount of threads into them since the archived threads can be referred to.

I would prefer having almost none of the thread here in there. If needed they could be opened. The only one carried over should be the constitution and maybe a howto (but it would be better to re-write it propably).

Well there is talk of moving the PSC over to the new forums and I do agree with this. No sense in trying to condense that thread or re-write it.

i thought you meant the rpg, as this was the only one we talked about to move over?
if yes a condensing of that information is urgently needed. not only for bringing it over, but also for helping to understand what are the rules, as i dont get thru that thread any more (and trust me, it is i think except the constitution the only thread where this happened to me!).
wouldnt it make more sense to condense the psc to a standard in the rules?

These can all be evaluated on an individual basis and a hard and fast decision is not needed at any particular time. It would be generally preferable to leave whatever we can here and simply link to it from the new forum.
