Story:

The date 2730 CE marks a very important point in the history of the Varendi. In this year the Emporer divided the Varendi society into castes.

The Caste of Gods - Including the Emporer and the priests. This caste rules the other castes. they have to be treated with the highest respect.

The Caste of Warriors - The Admirals, Fighter Pilots and Police Forces. This caste protects the nation from any alien treaths. They are the only caste still practizing arena-fighting.

The Caste of Thinkers - Scientists, Technicans, Doctors and Philosophs. This caste thinks about life and how to better it.

The Caste of Traders & Workers - Basicly everything else. Farmers, Factory Workers, Traders, but also foreign species. They are the backbone of the nation. However they have the lowest status.

When a new children was born, his caste was determined in a ritual. Often he got the same caste as his father. Marring between the castes was not forbidden however.

Mrfle! My internet's been screwy all day. I'll do diplomacy now, and get orders in tomorrow.

To: Gou'uld Empire
From: Sezuranian Federation

Surely trade between our empires would allow us both to flourish? Is this not prudent and reasonable for two civilized galactic powers?

To Sezuranian Federation
From the Greater Empire of the Gou'uld

We will not commit to anything at this time and shall continue to look at the current situation.

occ: Warman I need to have a list of things I can do as the rules are complicated and I do NOT understand them

Orders:
Purchase: 1 Dreadnought for 1 GC, 2 battleships for 2 GC, and 5 cruisers for 1 GC. bank all other credits.
expand to the two star systems our north. Expand too the star system thats sandwiched in between the green guys and dark blue guys.

IF WE FIND INTELLIGENT LIFE:Same as last time
IF WE DO NOT FIND INTELLIGENT LIFE:Same as last time.

Diplomacy:
To The Green Guys(sorry I couldnt remember your name)
From The Heart of Armaggedon
We wish too work out a territorial deal... you leave the "north-eastern" part of the galaxy too me and we let you have all the systems in the galaxy middle rim that you can grab.

sheep, how is it complicated? It's simple, use your GC(income/bank) to buy ships, spies, defenses. upgrade planets etc. all of this and use your exploration craft to claim unclaimed worlds and your normal ships to launch attacks against your enemies. But remember, ships can only explore, or attack 1 planet away at a time. (your ships can move through your entire empire at once, and you can attack more than one planet at a time, but not by going through a planet.)

Blah. Too bad I can't think of a character driven story yet...oh well...news articles will do.

Colonization Effort Begun! By Milika Geruil

Despite the recent meeting with the highly aggressive and seemingly-undiplomatic Gou'uld Empire, efforts by the government to colonize the system named "Precis" are being made. The other systems recently brought into Federation holdings have not yet been named -- since Algo and Precis were added into the Federation, laws were tweaked to allow the system and the planets within it to be named upon colonization.

The government will be paying for this program, which consists of twenty ships capable of holding 10 million people each. Sezuranian and Algoans [as the three races of said system have come to be collectively known as] have volunteered by the the millions for this incredible effort. This will mark the beginning of Federation consolidation of its holdings, and hopefully will allow for faster production and build up should the Gou'uld strike...

The first Dreadnought-class ship is brought into service! By Orin Partra

Instead of focusing on light ship development, the military department has decided to fund the construction of the first Dreadnought in the Sezuranian military. This ship, the Morningstar, is armed with the heaviest weapons and armaments available. Over fifty high-powered laser turrets dot this massive vessel of immense destructive power, and that's only the beginning. Two large neutron cannons are mounted on the front, providing the ship with its main cannons. Ten caches of over 150 missiles each lay within the thick outer hull and can be retracted and launched within ten seconds. The ship, however, is slow and will rely on the remaining fleet to defend it from its worst nightmare -- fighters.

The Morningstar is the Flagship of the first official fleet of the Federation, under command of Admiral Aruck Jerisan-Na. It is hoped that this ship will allow the Federation to be seen as a serious galactic power both economically and militarily.

A new alien race? By Milika Geruil

Radio transmissions emitting from Beyond the Anti-FTL Fields are to be investigated by a group of 3 Elite Explorer Vessels -- the Tatuya, the Reshna, and the Luliun -- which shall go around the percieved edge of the Anti-FTL Field and see if contact with whomever is releasing these transmissions can be made.

Skepticism surges amongst the populace, however, as the last race contact -- the Gou'uld -- seem highly aggressive and unfriendly. If two races like that are discovered, could the Federation be the only peaceful nation in the galaxy...?

Diplomacy:

To: The Gou'uld Empire
From: The United Federation of Sezuran

Of course, commitment to a race entirely alien from your own would be most unwise -- we know very little about each other, after all! Please, let us coexist then and see each other's motives. By this we mean a ten year [two turn] Non-Aggression Pact so that we might come to know each other without fear of attack. Surely this deal is prudent to a reasonable race such as the Gou'uld?

Orders:

1) All 20 Exploration Ships are to follow the paths as given on the map provided, and explore the planets circled [except the one circled in white]. The ships that head off the map are to investigate the transmissions detected as mentioned in my story.

2) If any of the planets claimed have intelligent life, offer them a place within the Federation -- show the goals of the Federation, explain the threat of the Gou'uld on planets where the intelligent life would be threatened, and display the equality and excellent treatment given to the people of Algo, who joined the Federation just recently. If they will not join, offer an alliance -- and if that fails, offer a Non-Aggression Pact and trade.

3) The star system called Precis is to be colonized. Members of all races have volunteered to go to the system and live upon the surface of its habitable planet, Terys. The system in question, in case you don't recall which it is, is labelled on the map and circled in white. [-5 GC]

4) The Morningstar, the flagship of the First Federation Fleet and the first Dreadnought-class starship, is to be constructed. Also, ten more Frigates are to be added as well. [-2 GC]

5) Orbital Batteries around the Ridshayl system [the system that Sezuran is located in] are to be installed for defensive purposes. [-1 GC]

6) Bank the remaining GC for future use.

7) The First Fleet -- consisting of the Morningstar, two Battleships, five Cruisers, and fifteen Frigates -- is to guard [GUARD, as in defensively patrol] Algo, the closest system to the Gou'uld. Two battleships, the rest of the cruisers, and 10 Frigates are to guard Ridshayl. The remaining ten Frigates will take up patrol in the Precis system after it is Colonized.
