Any particular reason their mutation lead to the growth of a second head? Ogres must be quite pissed off at the computer after they found out...

Faction Name: Perseid Republic
Race Name: Perseids (ruling), Vajirians, Castalians
Race Trait: Scientific
Government: Republic
Space Fleet: 20 Exploration Craft
# of Planets/Income: 1/3

Home Planet. Perseia

Brief History:
The Perseid Republic is still only limited to the planet of Perseia. Recently, a strange anomaly formed near the Perseid homeworld that prevented Faster-Than-Lightspeed travel when the technology was first implemented. Several worlds were swallowed up in these anomalies but some survivors managed to make it to Perseia. These peoples are Vajirians and Castalians, and the Perseids accepted them on their homeworld, promising to allow them to settle on the next offworld colonies that the Republic would establish, as long as they pledged loyalty to the Perseid Republic. They agreed, and as exploration crews are preparing to venture out to found colonies on planets away from the anomaly called "grey areas", so did the Vajirian and Castalian refugees.

The Perseids as a people are tolerant of other cultures but are expansionistic and if necessary, the Perseid Republic will use force to gain its goals or to maintain order within its own jurisdiction. They value knowledge and have a saying: "Knowledge is Power". They have successfully established a Perseid Senate as the ruling legislature, with the Perseid Court as the supreme judiciary, and the Perseid Triumvirate, with 3 popularly-elected officials known as Triumvirs sharing power, as the executive.

Home Planet: Mizora Prime

post-5-1092165067.png

The Mizoran people are an ugly, proud, and fiercely independent race. Their home on Mizora Prime is largely a wet and chilly drab place, though near the equatorial island chains it is sunny and warm. There are two continents on Mizora Prime, one in the Northern and one in the Southern Hemispheres. The Equatorial Islands separate the two.

There are two distinct subspecies of Mizorans, one with red skin and the other with greenish skin. This is attributed to the differences in variety of diet found in the northern and southern hemispherical continents, thus leading them to evolve differently. Here are file pictures of the two subspecies:

The Government of the Mizoran people is one that they both fear and respect. The Khanate of Mizora consists of a Great Khan, who leads the nation as a benevolent dictator. A Council of Elders, made up of the experts in all areas of government responsibility, exists to advise the Great Khan, though they have no actual power. The only known organized resistance to the Khan’s authority was a group of a few thousand colonists on Lehmbis, Mizora’s largest moon, who declared independence from the Khanate. The Great Khan quickly showed them what happens to those who reject His mercy and love by ordering their compound to be obliterated by Orbital Bombardment.

The Official Banner of the Khanate:

The History of the Mizoran people is one largely shrouded in myth and mystery, but some basic facts are known. The two hemispheres made contact with each other around 1000 years ago. There have been several world wars between them, but neither gained an upper hand in global dominance. 42 years ago, the Planet formally united as the Republic of Mizora, but the government was corrupt and inefficient.

9 years ago, a Great Leader rose out of the Benzine Bog region of the Southern Hemisphere. Proclaiming the advent of a “new era” for the Mizoran people, he quickly rose to the Deputy Chancellorship. Although claiming public allegiance to the Chancellor, he privately detested his corruption and incompetence.

When an assassin mysteriously killed the Chancellor one dreary day, it came as a shock to the people, but not much of a loss. They were disillusioned by the Republic, and they yearned for change. They were not disappointed.

Two weeks after assuming the Chancellorship, the Great Leader proclaimed the dissolution of the House of Representation and the Republic as a whole. Acknowledging the need for reform, He named Himself temporarily (of course) Great Khan of the Khanate of Mizora. This, He explained, would give Him the power needed to effect change in the system without being hindered by bureaucrats or entrenched interests. Needless to say, the temporary state is still in effect. The Mizoran people are very fond of the Great Khan, whose actual name is lost (or deleted) from the record.

Several months ago, Khanate scientists discovered a breakthrough that pleased Him very much. “Faster-than-Light travel,” he said in a televised address, “is the key to our continued existence as a people. May our voyage to the stars bring the goodness of our nation to all corners of the universe.”

Something I drew up in my spare time: a banner for the Hegemony of Alstasia (I think I'll use it for my custom avatar...).

The picture is of all the star systems in the Hegemony (just one, as of now), and the symbols around the edge are a few of their letters. They stand for (clockwise from the upper left):

Tsusyrvan Tsusyrvanzenilyt Y Alstasia,

which metaphorically means: United Socialism of Alstasia

And literally means (word by word):
Good-Whole-Government
Good-Whole-Government-dealing with-Needs-of-People
Of
Alstasia

That's a taste of their language. Here's the banner:

Faction Name(when translated too english): The Heart of Armaggedon
Race Name:Alerias
Race Trait: Militaristic
Goverment:Imperial
Space Fleet: 20 Exploration Craft
# of Systems/Income: 1
Researched:
Home Planet:Alerian
History:The Alerians are a rather violent race. They have a massive Xenophobia and are carnivourous(but they detest eating their own race). Their early selves wiped out the other animals on the planet(too eat of course) and thus they had too rapidly develop synthetic meat too eat. Another area that they devloped rapidly in was weaponry. But they suffered through 10 world wars, in the final one(the one in which they FINALLY developed Atomic Weapons) the entire planet was conquered by a nation known as the Deverius Imperium... It was renamed the Heart of Armaggedon after taking control of the entire planet... from then up until the development of FTL it was simply a process of brutally putting down putting down some rather violent rebellions. Other than that there is nothing else significant too note... except they are prepared too (literally) devour any other race they come across.
Location: Just put me on the far left side of the map... just inside the first ring(dont know how too post a picture)

Whats Happening?

He wants to know what Warman17 is doing.

update tonight, around 8-9 est. Life stuff has been keeping me away, that and I just bought Halo ;)

Update 1: 2720 CE

Across the galaxy many planets discover faster-than-light travel. They all have built 20 exploration craft to go search out the galaxy.

OOC: Just to confirm, the Expansionist trait means singular NPC colonized worlds are conquered without a fight, not when they’re part of empires. Also in light of the many more players than expected, I have added about 15-20 new planets.

Some planets were left out of update because they forgot to fill out their template completely. Also glad to see my NES is bringing in a lot of n00bs ^_^

There is currently 15 player empires(17 signed, but forgot complete template ;)) I will only accept 20. Anyone who wants to join can be placed on a waiting list after 20 and will take an NPC or something when a player quits/is destroyed.
