Gall Communication Thread

I sent this off to the Galls for kicks and giggles:

Greetings Shah Tubby!

We thank you so very much for your recent offer to trade fine technologies as our friends to the south refer to them, but we are currently constricted in our ability to sell construction.

Hope your war against the Greeks goes well.

Why dont we try and do a bit of scouting out for a friends in MIA of the Galls.

Care to be our new ambassador to the Galls?

I'm wondering if they're planning a raid on our coast. They probably know we were weakened by the war and they had a ship off the coast of Furbomb but it's just now gone away. Any thoughts on a coastal defense?

there really is no point in boats because stats are so weak so just have horsemen standing by, i thought strider was?

The galls have dyes and wines for sale and they need our gems and ivory. Should we try to strike a deal with them?

EDIT: Anyone want to be our ambassador to the Galls?

Either way i think if we have a couple of luxs we should trade with them, might ensure peace for awhile while also allowing us to gauge their reaction to us if they firmly say no or whatever :)

i suggested it in the trade thread, but i'll suggest it here too. i think we should trade ivory (once we get a 2nd source hooked up) to KISS for their wines.

How many additional luxes would we need for 0% lux?

Here's a screenshot showing where we'd be at 0% lox. Looks like only Dancing Banana would be in immediate trouble. We have no markets yet. We are last in population.

We received this message from the Galls:

Most Esteemed Residents of TNT:

We humbly apologize for the offensive tone and saber-rattling nature of our last communique.

We are a passionate people, and drink sometimes makes us forget ourselves. We apologize for any distress or unease our message may have caused.

The people of KISS are, at heart, peacable farmers dedicated to the matters of religious enlightenment. We believe that amicable relatioins and open trade further these sublime pursuits and are eager to engage in discussions regarding trade and commerce.

Please, brothers, let us sit and barter. May our interaction based on mutual respect lead us both to a peacable and prosperous existence.

APRIL FOOLS!!!

We're just messing with you. We're idiots and April Fools Day is our highest religious holiday.

We're really only interested in trading blows. Soon your cheif import will be pain, while your cheif export will be the odor from your fancy silk MC Hammer pants when you soil yourselves at our approach.

Consider this a declaration of war.

Have a nice day.

I checked the save and sure enough, they had declared war. Here is our current situtation:

Furbomb is lost, there's not much we can do about it.

Well, I'd say alot more than Furbomb is lost. All our defenses are down south. Not only is this attack timed with April Fool's day, it is timed with the ending of the Iroqi peace treaty. We are in very big trouble here guys. I can't look at the save for another couple hours. I'll do up some screenshots so we can see what kind of damage control we can do. We should ask for an extension. I'll send off a message to the Greeks. What should we say to the Iroqi? Strider, did they declare war on us, too?

we should rush horses and pikes in our cities, i think MIA will give us chivalry now, since we need it. we should try to defend as many cities as we can up north while we move some defensive units from the south. strider, are all the invading units Gallic swords or are there other units mixed in there?

i'll write up a message to MIA, and post it in the Greek comm. thread informing them of KISS declaring war.

I think this is the point where we'll have to trust the iroqi a bit and move most of our military north. The reasons for this are that the iroqi aren't that bad compared to the galls, and that out northern cities are more important to protect.

But Furbomb is lost. We might as well abandon it to deny them the pleasure of burning it and to avoid the huge amounts of WW we'll get from losing it to the galls...

The Iroqi has not declared war, only the galls.

Greekguy, tell the Greeks of our situtation. Tell them that there are 8 gallic swordsmen on our continent, and likely even more in galley's along the way. 8 swordsmen is no small force, and I'm betting that their own cities are rather undefended at this moment. Tell MIA that now is the time to strike against the galls. Ask MIA for an immediante military alliance against the nation of K.I.S.S.

We need to convert as many cities as possible over to military production. I suggest we move those three pikemen in the image above into horsebomb and attempt to make our stand their.

Also, what do we do about Furbomb? Disband it?

If were going to win this, we have to have a military alliance with MIA. We can handle a dozen gallic swordsmen, but if K.I.S.S. gets the oppertunity to keep sending them over then the war is lost. We must get MIA to invade the gallic homeland.

we should abandon Furbomb, and rebuild it after the war. we shouldn't let the Galls get the city, mainly because of WW that would ensue like Theodon said.

I agree, a stand at Horsebomb is probably a good idea. 3 pikes and anything else we can get in the city can put up a decent fight against 8 Gaillics.

i'll write up a message to MIA and post it in the Greek comm. thread. also, someone should post a thread for future Gaillic warplanning.

I've started a thread over the war here. For we can leave this open for diplomatic relations.

gotta admit, was a funny declaration of war, never the less have we tried replying yet? something sounding all high and mighty, possibly along the lines of, 'your troops seem to have found their way onto our soil, what pray are you intending to do with 8 swordsmen, they wont be able to do that much' that way we can see what there after and also maybe see whether they have any more units coming over.

^ agreed. send a message telling the Galls how much better we are than them and how we aren't afraid, and see if they let anything slip.
