The attached, somewhat idealized depiction would certainly seem to indicate a ram.

Hi Colonel Kraken any idea of an ETA for this unit? I would verymuch like to use it. Esp. with the catapult weaponry?

Oh and small question about the sails Your unit shows the triangular sail, but ozymandias' picture shows square sails. Where they both used at the same time maybe culturally dependant? Or is there some other relationship?

I wanted the square sails, but my reading indicated that this unit typically used Lateen rigged sails. Also, it allows this unit to be more easily distinguished from the Caravel.

I'm working on the attack animation. I've decided to go with a single cannon in the bow. It looks pretty cool and it's much easier to do than the catapult (just copy a paste a cannon from the Man-o-War).

The hardest part will be the death animation. I'm trying some new tricks so that it will take me less time to do the death (doing a much less than perfect rendition, but close enough that your eyes will fill in the missing elements because of the speed of the animation).

Good idea, Kinboat. I'll send you the default storyboard/pcx and you can make it.

Actually, I did a fudge job on the Caravel death flic and it looks convincing. The death flic goes by quickly enough to make it a reasonable rendition.

But if you want to make the explosion death flic: cool!
