Game Saturn

Stonehenge has been built in a distant land. :yup:

*releases breath*

2720 typically early enough for multiplayer with 11 other opponents? It was a fairly important wonder for me to build (considering I'm ramesses, those obelisks will be put to good use) but dang these last few turns have been nerve-wracking, even had a dream last night where DMOC beat me on this last turn. (okay I have a problem :mischief: ) Curious if anyone was actually close behind, but I understand that's probably information you wouldn't want to share.

Also, my map was centered! I am in the same general area that my little doodle map predicted, northwest corner of the map. Also found the south shore of my island. :)

It's close to the earliest I've ever seen in any Normal speed game. :p

 I've gone to bed and woken up thinking about Civ, but I don't think I've actually had a dream about it. ;)

That said, I don't think it's a problem... I certainly found my first large-scale multiplayer game ever did get the adrenaline running when I was close to a big moment, like a new wonder or declaring war. ;) I still get that sometimes, but experience definitely helps in calming your nerves. It's the human competition that does it... you get personally involved in the game, and get wrapped up in the need to beat others. Not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you're not obsessing about the game constantly. :)

Now, if you got that way about single player games, then that might be a cause for alarm. :p

Speaking for myself, I wasn't the slightest bit interested. Especially with those two Industrious civs around. :p

Cool. So do you know if you're isolated on an island yet?

Well I was a bit worried because I knew I could have been faster if I wanted to sacrifice early growth. (focus purely on hammers at size 2 instead of size 4) Not a signifigant difference, but enough that I knew an insanely focused civ who had no problem stunting their early growth could beat me. Plus outside of the industrious trait, my capital is mediocre, what if someone settled on plains hill stone?!

Yeah but you're creative, so it's sort of a moot point for you. :p

Huayna Capac was the most threatening, being industrious and beginning with mysticism. Sure he has terraces, but I find those are a subpar alternative to the instant culture the creative trait or stonehenge give you. (you don't really need them right away in early new cities)

Cool. So do you know if you're isolated on an island yet?

Not 100% certain as I still have some southern coast to uncover, but it sure looks like it. Though there could be a route through the icy tundra up north, having explored there yet and it fans out into the fog. Plus of course I may be connected by galley, I see a small offshore island...

No problem being isolated though, keep my precious stonehenge safe. :king:

Also its time for the fifth edition of the Saturn map. The massive continent's civs have been all switched around now that you guys are being much less vague, and of course... Stonehenge!

Edit: Map changed slightly, may need a hard refresh

Ok because my position is again not there where it should be, i have decided to send Josh a postcard from my capital, i hope it will help him :)

[EDIT]: Whoops i forget iam not on grass :)

Ooh, shiny. Okay, all I know of your actual location is "a lot of plains," so temperate. Assuming land locked...

I know that Plako is one tile off coast with temperate resources. He's south of the jungles too. I thought he was east coast (maybe that was Scuum) but I guess could be west.

I know DMOC is landlocked and hidden deep inside the tropics, jungle north and south. (via ingame chat) Your plains and his jungle can only be so close...

Okay updated to be all wrong again!

I wasn't building Stonehenge. I wasn't planning on building any early-game wonders. :goodjob:

That's just what you want us to think!

But yeah with your continent obviously quick expansion is going to be much more important than building shinies. The only other civ I could really think needed stonehenge would be plako, he'll need all the cultural help he can get. But he probably has other priorities.

So many creative civs, keep them as far away from me as possible! :crazyeye:

Edit: Uhh... you didn't make your move DMOC so the turn could switch?

Congratulatios Joshua.

I thought about taking a shot, but I was quite certain that it would've been pretty bad idea for me. I possibly would've tried, if I would've got Mystisicm from the hut.

So I'm closer to Toch than Plako is to him even though those two found each other first? Interesting. Of course, Toch knows where my borders are now (I see his scout). Speaking of which, a scout? Toch must have popped/researched Hunting.

Anyway, my quecha is now slogging his way through the jungle, trying to find you all.

And who's got a size 5 capital already?!? Mine is still at size 3.

Or he just popped a scout. ;)

Edit: Ooh, I found another hut! And it's in my safety ring too. Though that's not saying much, my island is so small and my capital central enough that literally 90% of the island is "safe"!

Edit again: And scuum got a tech from a hut! Wah, my wonderful point lead. (Well I'll get it back when stonehenge pops my borders for me. ;) )
