Edit: Ooh, I found another hut! And it's in my safety ring too. Though that's not saying much, my island is so small and my capital central enough that literally 90% of the island is "safe"!

That's one advantage of having your own island... you don't have any competition with other civs for the huts.

He's just close to Scuum, who just got horseback riding.

He can't be warred against until turn 100 though so its not like he'll actually be screwed over by a lucky hut.

You'd do a lot with them if you had anyone else on your continent.

It isn't. Chariots (and their replacements) can no longer be upgraded to Horse Archers. Instead, they upgrade directly to Knights. I guess it was a balancing thing introduced to BTS.

Not sure. Maybe they just decided that the units were too dissimilar (or too close) to have an upgrade path there. I really don't know what logic they used...

I thought all techs in the game gave you 6 points. I'll have to check on this again.

Hmm, I'm fairly sure that at least ones from later eras give more points. At least as far as I remember.

Well I got some glorious experience points from the hut! I won't complain though, it sure beats some gold or a map at this point. Plus I got Woodsman II, which is nice, and I'm only 3 EXP away from unlocking the Heroic Epic which will be very important to unlock if I'm blocked off from everyone!

I got attacked by a lion earlier so I moved away from a hut which had a panther nearby because of my reduced strength. I got attacked by a panther and survived. Great, so I moved on the hut. Out popped a barbarian warrior and the original panther is still there.

Grrrh. I suspect I'll lose.
