My map post was updated a little with something new.

Also Amethyst forgot to hit end turn, so if Elucidus or she get online it would nice to do that...

I didn't forget to end my turn. I'm waiting on a reply from Lord Parkin to a message.

I just like a good "discussion" sometimes.

So the discussion continues. Your culture and maintenance I would imagine would be more defining for what territory is closer, since your culture is what determines what territory is yours. With an unlimited culture spread from your capital, hers would surely overtake those tiles much much earlier than yours. And her culture would grow there much sooner than yours.

This is a friendly discussion, what you and she do is between you guys. But it opens an interesting discussion, don't you think?

Hmmmm, in terms of settling quickly the most defining factor is how quickly a settler can get there from the building city ( in this case the two capitals) including movement penalties for hills and roads. Who would be closer that way?

Agreed, weekends are the days that the game flows far faster. Would be good if Amethyst & Parkin would reach an agreement, or go to war!

I don't really mind how others expand. Look at Toch -- he settled his first city so that it touches my capital's borders.

Judging by the map I think you had plenty of choices. For instance, what about that copper south of your capital? But if I were in your position, it's what I would have done anyway. No hard feelings at all.

And today would have flowed nice and fast, a 3 1/2 hour turnset if it weren't for this silly fuss.

In the early game it's not about who would own the tiles when your capital gets to legendary culture 500 turns in the future. It's about who settles the location earlier. You know that.

1) was actually attempted. Given my much slower production of settlers though, and that it'd bring her to 3 cities and me to 1, I couldn't afford to do it.

My argument wasn't about going anywhere, it wasn't about the situation anymore, it was about the concept. Sorry if you guys are too closely focused on the game to see something else.

Hmm, I wonder what she offered you in exchange for your city? You aren't actually closer to the copper and with my calculation even with her original city spot being two tiles away from it she would out culture you and take your copper.

A settler does not equal a pre-founded city this early in the game. Especially when it's a 2nd settler vs a 3rd city. Let's please move on from this, Ame's not the only one who has had a spot they wanted taken by someone else, and yet others don't expect immediate surrendering of the city in question.

I apologize for holding up the game a couple of times, but I get home from school at 11pm, sometimes quite tired, so I can only play my turns at night or early morning. However, two wrongs doesnt make something right.

First I'd like to start off by saying wow. I didn't know a bunch of adults could act so immature and childish.Applause to every one. I don't usually post on the boards because I don't usually feel the need. I think I should be able to play the game and not be baby sat by a bunch of people who probably need it themselves. I figure we should all play try to talk out alliances and wars and not come on and hassle one another about our turns or what our agreements with others.I guess I was wrong so let me join the mud fest.
1. I don't know why every one feels the need to meddle in my affairs. If I don't finish my turn on the time table you wanted, get over it. I don't come on the boards and meddle with any one else who is taking their sweet time to finish theirs. I figure they must be busy or they are waiting on something. I figure every one else has a life like I do and to tell you the truth mine doesn't revolve around Civ. (Also next time, I won't notify the boards that I am waiting for a response. I didn't say in my post what it was for so I don't know why anyone is commenting on my affairs.)
2. Luc only posted about DMOC and Dux because everyone jumped on the band wagon to pretty much tare me a new ass for taking my time.
3. I'm not even going to address the fact that every one is making fun of me for something they don't know the whole story. (Oh and by the way I know several people who would have killed Lord right off the bat for settling near them. In fact, I have the means to do so and I know of wars started for less.)
4. Joshua you have really showed your immaturity and thank you for letting me know how much I don't want to randomly join multiplayer games in the future.

Now unless every one can move on mind their own business and play a decent game together and act like adults I don't want to play.
Finally, Lord, I have no ill feelings toward you. I extend my hand in friendship but please don't expect me to go quietly. Like I said I know of a couple of other games where this has started a war.
To you others take that how ever you want to, drop it or find some one new. I won't care and I probably won't give it a second thought or mal intent if you do decide to find someone new.
