Game Name: Vampire Blood
Game Type: RPG/Adventure
Console(s): Any
Development Status: 1/?
Description: In the fantasy world of Galazar, heroes of all kinds have been slowly eliminating the vampire race one by one. You play as Razair, a young new vampire tasked with saving the species from extinction. As Razair, you set out on a monumental quest to take down the most well known heroes all the while quenching your thirst for blood. The game will feature unique RPG mechanics, elements, and customization, exciting, fast-paced combat, gorgeous graphics and superb sound including full voice acting, and a deep and twisting plot, with multiple paths through the story.
Plot
In the fantasy world of Galazar, heroes and mercenaries of different types have gradually been destroying the vampire race, mostly through crusades and quests. The vampires are now on the brink of extinction with their population numbering only in the dozens. The last of the vampires gathered in the Great Demonic Wastes to decide how to prevent their race from extinction. In the end they decided to use ancient and powerful magic to transfer some of their powers to a young, but powerful and up and coming vampire named Razair. He gained powers beyond that of any vampire before, with an unprecedented level of control over blood. With that, Razair set out on his adventure to destroy the heroes and save the vampires.
Gameplay
Most of the gameplay is standard RPG fare, with health, swords, bows, armor, and experience points. There are three different basic attacks for melee weapons, and those are quick attack, heavy attack, and grab moves. Multitudes of different combos can be made by putting strings of these moves together in different order. Additionally, different weapons will have different attack styles and combos. For example, an axe, long sword, and hammer will all have different attack styles. That is where similarities end, however.
Blood Magic-Instead of normal magic and mana, or MP, there will be blood magic. There will be many spells with the effects of each getting more powerful as you level up. To cast each spell, you will need a currant amount of blood points, which you get by killing creatures, and then extracting and absorbing their blood. When you do cast the spell, extremely detailed animations will play out on screen, showing the spell and in all its gory goodness.
Examples: Superheat Blood- target enemy has their blood superheated, to the point where their entire bodies are set on fire. If you are powerful enough, this might even cause internal combustion. Blood Siphon- target enemy has their blood siphoned away by you, making them weaker and giving you blood points even before you kill them.
Bat Form As a vampire you naturally have a bat form. With a simple press of a button you can change into a bat, giving you more mobility and the ability to fly allowing you to reach places you were previously incapable of getting to. As you level up your bat form's powers will increase as well. You weaker however, while in bat form, so there is a trade-off.
Vampire's Bite By using your vampire's bite, you turn a defeated enemy into a vampire. This increases the total vampire population, and it lets you add your new ally to your party, with a max of 4 people in your party at any time. You can only use this ability once per night, but you can use it on anyone from a common peasant to a grand warrior.
Other Features
Co-op- Off-line or online, a friend can jump in at any time in your adventure and temporarily take control of one of the other characters in your party.
Multiple Paths There will be multiple paths through the story with many twists and turns depending on what actions you take. Each of the different paths will change how the game unfolds in different ways, so each time you play through Vampire Blood it will feel like an entirely different experience.

"I hear that people are clamoring for a J-RPG." This was Kenta.
"Of course! Haven't you ever heard me whining about it? I know I was pretty loud." That was Aiko.
"Well..." It was true that he had heard her and ignored her; and now look. People were clamoring for a classical Japanese RPG. That was so old-school. But they would serve their customers.
"We're also not going to fund another company's game!"
"Why? We've always done that in the past."
"'Cause, Kenta, I'm going to make sure that they do it right!"
"Replace "right" with "my way" and you've got it," Kenta almost said out loud.
-----
"Here's the commercial, brought to us by those PR monkeys."
Katsu Nagato facepalmed inwardly. He was standing right there...
-----
A black screen. Some taiko drums start playing in the background, quietly, but steadily crescendoing, just a little by little. White text now, matched with a deep voice.
"From the technical wizards behind The Light Complex"
It fades away, and now a quick flash of a marching army, going through a valley into a forest. They're not men insofar as they're just a machine, a huge wave, all mechanical and unfeeling. Even the horses, though beautifully rendered, are impassive. They're clad in white though, strangely enough. So are they the good guys or the bad guys?
"A story of redemption."
Another army, although they're scattered, less organized. They're clad in dark black and their faces are tainted with the faint hint of evil. But they show emotion; they look desperate, and they look anxious. They run out and hide behind the bushes, the archers prepped and the soldiers behind, ready to charge out. They calm their horses, which buckle slightly.
Back to the shining army of white. Their armor pales, no longer reflecting the light of the sun, when they reach the forest. And suddenly the blacks strike. The arrows stand, the bushes rustle, and arrows fire, and then -
The screen abruptly fades to black as the music, which had been reaching cataclysmic levels, suddenly stops, the last beat fading out.
The words "Five years later..." appear, then leave the screen.
"Alphaeus." The scene fades back in to a pretty young (presumable) maiden, clad in a beautiful springtime dress.
"Yeah?" The man who responds is presumably Alphaeus; he looks very knightly too. His long hair flows back and his armor clanks when he shifts in his feet. His sword is sheathed.
"Make sure..."
"Yes?"
"Make sure you come back from your training okay!"
"I will. A cavalier always keeps his promises." He salutes her and gets on his horse, then leaves, galloping.
"First Fantasy: A New RPG."
-----
"Wait," said Kenta, "what's the plot?"
"I'll reveal it later!" said Aiko. "But admit it, it looks great!"

Spend $5,000 to start Operation Sealion
$2,000 to continue
$5,000 to make a new graphics engine for it.
$5,000 for low level marketing
OPERATION SEALION: THE INVASION OF GREAT BRITAIN will include an advanced aviation model. We'll use the Brits as an example. Aircraft is classed as Interceptor (Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane), Heavy Fighter (Bristol Beaufighter), Level Bomber (Avro Lancaster), Reconnissance (Lysander) and Lend-Lease (P-51 Mustang). There are also two carrier based fighters, the Seafire and F4U Corsair.
Interceptors are used to attack enemy bombers and fighters. Heavy fighters are used on ground targets. Level Bombers are more effective then Heavy fighters against factories but are not so good against ground units. Reconnissance scans the battlefield. Lend-Lease is an American (British) or Japanese (German) Interceptor which are faster to build, but more expensive.

Game News Report
Savannah - News from Swampwolf Industries has been quiet for a few months. It is suspected that with the financial crunch of the last quarter, they have been forced into quiet development with out much time or money for publicity for their current game in development, Runabout Wolf. We visited their studio to find out what we could about this upcoming game. Owner and Head Designer Kiran Hall was happy to show us around and sit with us for a short while.
GNR: How is the development of Runabout Wolf coming along?
KH: Things are moving along well. We are still on schedule.
GNR: So this quarter's crunch hasn't affected you?
KH: It has. We are dedicated to getting Runabout done on time, but originally were going to go ahead and start development on a second game. However, we had to put that on hold until we get more revenue coming in.
GNR: So what about Runabout Wolf? What features can you tell us about that will make it stand out?
KH: While the game is a platformer and can be played straight through from starting point to end point on each level. However, you can return to any level and play it again. That has become a common feature on some platformers. We take it a step further. The game will keep track of the date and time, we will use this data to change each level in subtle and dramatic ways to keep the replay value up.
GNR: Do you have any examples you can share with us at this time?
KH: Sure. Take the farmland based levels. In the fields, the crops will change as the seasons change. During late summer you will have to wander through tall cornfields, which will hide powerups and some enemies will be harder to see, including a harvesting tractor that would only show up near the end of the growth period. Benefits include being able to hide better from the enemies. The worlds are roamable 3d, so if you are being chased by a farmer, you can drop to four legs and dash into the cornfield. The farmer might give chase and allow you to run a circle around him. He won't see you and keep looking around the field while you run back out and make a break for a fence dividing the fields. During the winter there might be onions growing in the same field and you won't be able to use the same trick. During daylight hours you are more likely to run into human enemies, domesticated animals, and other daylight active creatures, while at night the owls, deer, other nocturnal animals.
GNR: You described the levels as roamable 3d. How will you get players from the starting point to the ending point without getting lost? And how will you border your levels so that players don't run endlessly in the wrong direction?
KH: Both questions are solved through an increasingly difficulty as you get towards the edge of the level. There are also hints and clues to direct you towards the end of each level. One forest level is bordered with a very busy freeway. It is near impossible to get across the road without getting killed. However, should the player manage it there is a suburban housing are on the other side. Widelife control officers will almost imeadiately show up and start attacking with tranquilizers and cops with tazers. It is impossible to pass them as they will increase in numbers until you are caught, and then dumped back in the middle of the level. Roadways, fast moving rivers, high cliffs, swarming aligators, and other things are used to keep you within the level. I'd like to point out though that the levels are designed to be large. So it won't feel like you are being railroaded through the level.
GNR: What kind of hints will you use to direct the players through the level?
KH: Tufts of hair and footprints of the coyotes will be pointed out, but they might not always take you through the shortest path to the end of the level. Remember the coyotes don't want you to find them so they are moving all around the level in hopes of throwing you off their track. It is possible to cut a level in half if you find a shortcut, which is only rewarded through exploration of the level. Plus some powerups will only be in the fringes of the level.
GNR: Why are the coyotes stealling the moon?
KH: All you know at the beginning is that they did. The reasons why are slowly discovered as you progress through the game, so I can't tell you too much without giving it away. You do know early in the openning that you are a wolf recently released back into the wild. Which is why you as the player don't know all the wolve's secrets at the beginning of the game.
GNR: Well, so far things sound great. We can't wait to get a playable version in our hands, what about a release date?
KH: I would love to give you one, but for now just say end of the year as a rough estimate should things stay on schedule.
GNR: Well it was great to talk to you, and we hope everything stays on schedule for you.
KH: Thank you. I was glad to be able to talk to you today.
This is an excellent NES. It makes me wonder what the market would be like if NESers really DID controll the industry. I'm tempted to join myself. Brilliant work all of you, especially Luckymoose.

Nations of Gamers:
Europe:
The Takk continues to dominate but the other two consoles stretch out in attempts to pick up sales. With new bundles and lower prices the Light Complex and Phoenix take hold of the European market.
UK film director has requested the rights to make a movie out of the Jet Stream franchise. No word yet on the conclusion of the talks as Digi Forge owns the rights to the franchise.
Digi Forge announced early technical details about the next generation console which they hope to be out in a couple of years. Code Named the Chi it is unknown if this name will stick. Hype and rumors are floating around.
America:
The Phoenix takes over as lead console in the US of A during the summer by a margin of 200,000 consoles over the next biggest competitor, the Takk. This really excites many players who now expect more freebies to come their way.

Pushing nearly 200,000 Takk systems into the hands of the gamer Japanese.
More rumors about the Phoenix Light spread as little news about it comes from the two cooperating companies. It is known that production is still full steam on the project and the hand held should debut at next summers gaming expo in America.
Mod Stuff: Stats coming later. The money should pick up drastically when the holidays hit. A huge number of games are coming compared to the rest of the year.
Cool, i must thank the advertising team for the east asia region. Free holidays for those guys!
And i officially deny any rumours of any new console from my company. All that funding has been going into new office furniture, which we change every week, to maintain employee morale.
