GameNES: Insert Credit

Orders comin', comin' in tonight! And even a story.

I might have a revolution story, more likely next update, after its been started on.

EDIT: now themed.

Let me begin the update. With me and my sister sharing her laptop for the month it may take me two days to get the update up. I am going to start now and fight off her attempts to take it from me. I might not get it up tonight because sometimes she goes as far as using a staple gun to get her laptop back.

Nuclear Kid you cannot spend 10000 dollars on one game in one turn. You can only spend a maximum of 7000 a turn on a game. Also Zombie II has 3 turns to go 2000 won't finish it this turn.

Rushed orders sent, if its not too late...

I hope to give this NES more input after the update.

edit: I wasn't just rushing cos i saw Luckymoose's message, I was honestly going to post anyway! :o

sometimes she goes as far as using a staple gun to get her laptop back.

Oh dear!!! I will convene the council of the space hamsters, im sure we can lend you some psychic energy to protect you from this peril!

You had a good while. I can't do the update til tomorrow. I only have minutes remaining on this pc.

Descent into Acquisition

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Aiko's voice did not in fact echo as thought by the interns who were standing there but rather she said "whoa" eight times, which was approximately 7.000 times too many times to Kenta.

Isaac Hayden merely nodded. "Everything is exactly as I said. I decided that video games weren't really my forte and so I give up."

"Liar!" said Aiko, giggling. "We loooove working with you! Is this some prank to get more funding, 'cause I really will give you more funding, and-"

"The truth is," said Eugene Hong, "is that he's finally founded his seafood company. So he's done with video games."

"Oh."

It was silent. Aiko tugged at her white starched blouse and adjusted the ribbon on the front for lack of anything better to do. The Germanics really knew how to be silent. Aiko was about to go crazy in the ten second silence that followed.

So fidgety, thought Kenta. You're like a child. Quit it.

I wonder if she has to go to the restroom, wondered Katsu.

The Germans stared at her. Aiko sighed and slammed her hands on the desk, palms down.

"All right! I'll do it! Under one condition!"

"What's that?" asked Isaac, unperturbed.

"At least one of you will have to be my adviser!"

"Mr. Hong."

"Yes?"

"You are now employed by Ms. Aiko Sakurada."

-----

The accountants smiled for the first time all year. Finally, something positive. After the big slump and then the fiasco with Nuclear Kid Industries (what a dumb name for a company; honestly, who the hell is this Nuclear Kid? Mr. Evans was not a child at heart. He was a businessman in this cutthroat business world. Oh well...)

"Mr. Hong!"

"Yes?" He was getting used to this new job. Aiko Sakurada was very spontaneous.

"Come in, come in,"

He entered the excitingly off-square room to the right of the chunky office. It was dark.

"What's happening?"

"I'm screening the new commercial for First Fantasy. It's a new idea: An online miniseries that will detail some of the plot."

"Aren't you just copying Gladius, except more low-budget?"

"Quiet, Katsu." she said. "You helped make this."

-----

The empire of Dratas was a sprawling empire. It completely dominated the Old World. It happened completely by accident. The smaller countries would always slight it, then it would have to invade to restore its justice. First Draxlor, then Tider, then Imatpos, then the Free States, then the Confederation of the Rhyz, until all of a sudden it saw itself controlling the Old World. There were no more free states; they were all puppets.

The Dratasians couldn't believe it. Surely the smaller countries knew not to commit such foul acts of the largest empire in the known world. But no, apparantly not. The shining image of the Dratasian soldier, clad in white, instilled fear in the hearts of foreigners but pride in the hearts of the Dratasians, who were on a moral crusade.

The video accompanied all this with historical diagrams and maps of battles - arrows flew around everywhere, and the small country of Dratas expanded from a Free City to a veritable empire.

In fact, almost nothing could challenge the empire. It was in its Golden Age...

-----

The video ended.

"I like it, " said Aiko, and then she jumped up and ran down the halls.

Game of the Update: Gladius - Celestial Games: The most anticipated game sense GENOA, Gladius has proven to be all that was said of it. Living up to the hype this game is a system seller. Boosting the Light Complex ahead of the Takk for the first time all year. The most successful release to date with over 4 million units sold in just under four months, this game is not a slacker on gameplay or story. Gladius is the must own game this holiday season and perhaps a must play for all time. (+Confidence, Tech/Design, Reputation, Artist Level)

Nations of Gamers:

Europe:

The Takk continues to dominate its home continent. Releasing Krystal Kingdoms to huge success in Europe, though limited success else where.

The first rough draft of the Jet Stream movie is sent to Digi Forge. No one is happy with it and it is postponed and is to be rewritten. Digi Forge refused to allow Uwe Boll direct it as well.

America:

The Phoenix earlier in the year seemed to be catching up or atleast holding its own in the console war. When Zabriske Entertainment sold out to Hayden. Now Hayden Entertainment drops out of the race due to lack of income and increasing production costs for the Phoenix. Now being replaced by creators of the hit game series Zombie Chronicles, Nuclear Kid Industries. Gamers in fear of support being dropped for good, even with good games on the horizon for the Phoenix, refuse to purchase the console. Instead aiming at the Light Complex and Takk both with better line ups and prices. It is unknown if the Phoenix can keep income rolling in only selling 200-300,000 units over the holiday season compared to the couple million by its rivals.

Sports games continue to sell like crazy in the US with all three of the sports titles by Endless Games selling fantastically and keeping the income rolling in. Allowing for them, with Destiny and EtherEnd games, to announce a new hand held.

The Revolution handheld has been announced as stated above by the cooperating studios. Aiming to rival the Light HH with a cheaper less graphically advanced system. Featuring Gyroscopic controls and game play similar to that of the SNES of old.

Asia:

Gladius hit’s the world like a storm. Starting in Japan the game spreads selling out everywhere it goes. Making new media sales records and continuing the live up to the hype. Light Complex is now offering a bundle for the Holidays that comes with Gladius. This has sold over half a million consoles alone, seriously putting the race for first place into perspective.

Takk, in attempts to compete with the Light Complex continues to offer a cheaper Takk bundle with Visions of Gaia and other games. Selling fairly well in South Korea and Japan. China is refusing any consoles into their market. If they change their minds the first console into China could sell extremely well. This is unknown and unlikely to happen.

Mod Stuff: Stats coming later. Sorry this is short but I am working on my sisters computer this month. I continue to push on the updating path!!!!

I see I didn't make the evening news...I suppose a story or two should fix that, eh? I'll see what I can do.

So sorry. I forgot. Will add something in. I said I was cutting this one short. You will get recognized.

OOC:
Are there PC's in this world or only the 3 consoles? And what about games for cell-phones? Va those be made and sold to cell-phone companies?

I may join :p I have some ideas to try

Um...there are players controlling the console companies, game studios and so on. You can make games for any platform but the point is to work with the console companies.

I understand, what I was asking was if there is a PC in this world and cell-phone games? If not than fine :) I'll make games for the consoles.

Is there a mouse for consoles? Cause for examples strategy games would suck in them as far as I'm concerned. Or maybe I could develop a mouse for consoles (which will cost but bring me a special add-on to consoles that I sell and not them).

You don't have to go out of your way for me if you don't like. I know how it feels to be rushed and busy as you are :( No pressure.

A question though: Could I theoretically start some real marketing this turn, or must it be paid for the turn before it is used?

How'd Death Match do?

Also, please get on MSN

nice update. is there any way to speed up a handheld? just wondering. and as well, with 3 turns to go, what can we do about developing games for them?

Release some specs in a story you know like a press conference. Get some people interested in it.

Deving for handhelds costs $2000 to start and 1000 to continue. With 2000 also speeding it up a turn.

Nice update! I think i need to get me some sports games. And something to grab attention like gladius...

@Lucky, i did reply about the film thing, im not sure if you saw it. I guess I should've mentioned it in my orders.

Maniacal Moocows said:
Digi Forge is pleased to allow such a film to be made. We are willing to sign a deal on royalties only. All we ask for is a small percentage of any profits the film eventually makes, which will be shared with our asociates, Destiny Games. We will not ask for any upfront payment for use of the franchise.

Handhelds take 25k to start and 10k to continue - what is this drastically reduced price?
