Gaming Laptops

Yep, I use my laptop at a table generally, as I don't have a proper desk, as that is where the family computer is. But I have it plugged into the mains power if I do some serious gaming, like in Medieval 2: Total War (brillian game, might I add!).

But even under heavy load, I can get 2 hours out of the 9 cell battery upgrade I got, which is plenty, considering I like playing in front of the TV, at the several tables and desks I have at work and at home.

I use Adobe CS3, and with 3gb RAM, runs brilliantly on my laptop. I chose the "gaming" laptop, as it had the better specs than the "home" ones, even though I use it more for work than gaming. And truth be told, games run brilliantly on it too!

Well, at this point, I'm 90% sure I am going with a desktop. It's not quite as sexy a choice, but I believe it will be much more sensible in the long term, especially with the ability to upgrade RAM and/or video card.

The downside is that I'll need a new desk and a nice chair, but I was probably going to need those eventually, anyway.

Actually, the real downside is that I don't have a good excuse to run out to the store and buy one today. :( My current computer is over 5 years old, but I don't think it is done quite yet.

But desire may get the best of me. :D

Topic title is an oxymoron.
