That city will have AMAZING production!!! With those hills and that Iron!

My only problem with it is, will there be enough food to work all those tiles?

GET SITE 5 ASAP!!!!!

That city will have AMAZING production!!! With those hills and that Iron!

My only problem with it is, will there be enough food to work all those tiles?

The 2 plains hills are -2 food each, the grassland hills and iron mine are -1 food each for a total 7 food deficit. The city itself is 2 free food, and working the clams (we could steal them from the choke city, it doesn't have as big a food deficit) is +3 food with workboat and lighthouse. So irrigating 2 flat grassland tiles with civil service would mean we can work everything. Sounds good to me, the rice/cow city would have to move 1 tile south from the sign I put on the game map.

875: Stopped cottaging for roads instead, Bombay switched to Settler.

850: Started mine near Calcutta and the great prophet Narak builds a shrine near the Bodhi tree where Buddha gained enlightenment.

825: Finish Sailing, start Writing. Start Monastery.

800: Roads

775: Roads

750: Our intrepid warrior is all healed up from his last encounter. He packs his meager belongings and heads back towards where he thinks home might be.

725: Monastery opens, work boat started.

700: Archer now defending Calcutta, Oracle started. Our explorer comes across another band of strangers. Considering his past experience he is understandably wary, but it is his job to explore this world. He smiles warmly, but nervously. The barbarians see him bare his teeth and misunderstand the simple gesture. Though just barely it is our boy who is left standing over the stranger’s messy remains. He seeks out a nearby woods, pulls out his hammock and makes himself comfortable. Perhaps he will try returning home again in another hundred years.

675: Start Missionary, cottage, gold connected.

650: Masonry started, slave revolt in Delhi (-10 gold, 1 turn disorder, -1 pop), settler heads south, galley started.

We can spread religion around while we wait for a boat to bring it to Gilgamesh. (And maybe bring our boys home). We just need to keep an eye on Oracle so that we don’t finish it too early to get Theology.

Also the discovery of Iron has changed the city plan a little. Please check the new pics.

(Okay, no pics right now. I'll try again in a little bit.)

Here ya go.

All we need is Poly to be able to sling Theology from the Oracle. I'm more worried that someone else will build Oracle before we can build it in Calcutta. Poly will definitely be done first unless the next person changes research. I suggest the worker there chop and mine the other jungle hill. He can chop the only forest in the fat cross as well. Taking OR from Poly and spreading Buddhism to Calcutta should help a little as well.

We do need both Polytheism and Monotheism for Theology. Our next GP is 24 turns away, I think the Oracle will be done before that so we can lightbulb something else with the prophet.

Also remember that it only takes 1 guy for the first golden age in BtS, and GAs have been made more powerful too. They now increase GP production and mean no anarchy.

yay i'm up.

Oracle thelogy and research mono and poly? i got it.

And i'm guessing we build next city at the iron site?

Let's start!!!!

IBT: I see a Galley being built in Bombay, i'm not sure what this is for. I read we're planing to spread our religion. ok i'm fine with that. after that i would like to do some exploring to search for some islands that may or may not bring us to other AI's.

Turn 1:
62fmt0z.png
that did our work for us. No missionary used, budhism just spread there. Budhist missionary completed, now heading to bombay to wait for that galley.

Turn 2: Did some MM so oracle will complete in half the time,

Turn 3:
6ba2aeq.png
Damnit!!! now we use Gp to get theology...

Settled New delhi
4mm9vmd.png

Start Granry in new city

Whipped delhi which was working on a worker as the new city must really want it's iron! :p city is now at size 4 from size 5.

Turn 4: Budhism spreads in New Delhi.

Turn 5: Nothing

Turn 6: Horray! Gilga asked for Open Borders, i agreed since i'm going to be using it right after to spread budhism right? Wron. Budhism spread into his to biggest cities at the same time right after this! I put that missionary to the spot where our next city will likely be to get some use out of it. (site 7)

Turn 7: Gilga converts to budhism.

Turn 8: Budhism spread into Kish another gilgamesh city.
I go for Great lighhouse in Delhi.
Turn 9: Nada special

Turn 10: Nothing at all... Exploring warrior now exploring Sumerian lands.

Haven't checked the save. Too bad on Oracle, guess nothing we could have done would have helped.

It looks like Gilgamesh has a city SE of Bombay on that unexplored land.

It looks like we should fill in those cities, maybe we should settle the Gold/Rice city next for some gold? Exploring with the galley would be good as well.

It looks like the gold mine could use a road as well.

Next guy that plays will start to see New Delhi's wrath as it grows! :p I really like that city, i managed to steal the clams from culcutta and next turn it'll grow to size two.

Note: I would like to explore near the cows in the southern coast, The galley is heading there, just explore that area, i think there are islands there as it wasn't scouted out well originally.

The Galley is heading there, just click on the galley and you'll see where it's going.

Great prophet in 15 turns. If we are going to lightbulb Theo then how about researching Alphabet instead.

Looks like that shrine is pretty good at spreading religion, especially for close cities. So why not send that missionary on a 3+ hour tour aboard the Guppy and maybe we can set up Buddhism in some distant lands too.

Turn 0: Decide to keep galley on its course though I would've gone the other way.
There's a barb warrior inside Calcutta's border but an axeman just got there so should be np
Set research to Alphabet

Turn 1: We're #2 in civ size, Gilgamesh is #4
Our axe takes the barb warrior w/o loss, moves on to the rude squatters on the hut S of Calcutta

Turn 2: Settler started in Bombay

Turn 3: Our axe liberates the tribal village. The ungrateful villagers are hostile. Fish found off the coast, might make an OK city site.

gandhi-hostile-villagers0000.jpg

Can't work the fish and the plains hills though.

Turn 4: The villagers won't attack the axe cause they're yella. Move axe back toward Calcutta.
Collossus built in far away land

Turn 5: One barb warrior gets the courage to attack axe. It wasn't a good idea.
Axe needs more blood and takes out the 2nd warrior.

Turn 6: Jungle grows near New Delhi :(

Turn 9: Great Lighthouse completed!
My experiment in Calcutta to build a lighthouse so that New Delhi doesn't have to, proves a failure. I thought it would give +1 food to the clam tile but it doesn't since New Delhi's working it. Lighthouse started in New Delhi.

Alphabet in, researching Monarchy for more :)

Turn 10: Islands discovered SW of Cows, right where LastOne said there might be some. Glad I kept the galley going the way it did.

gandhi_islands0000.jpg

Whipped library in Delhi to get rid of :(

Great Prophet in 2 turns. Settler due next turn.

It looks like we have a lot of land to race Gilgamesh for, there's some good city sites S of the chokepoint.

I'm good at predicting islands!

The islands look decent, AND they look like the kind of islands that connect continents togather. So i think a continent is hiding past those islands.

As for the civ that's hiding? I bet you it's mehmed because he always appears in other continents! :p

What i would do, is race Gilga to the second choke point blocking the southern part of the island. I would say 2-3 cities in that Gold, Wheat, Cow Bronze cluster would be good.
