If anything they will be announcing something that will be out around the 1 year anniversary of ciV

While my guess is that they are working on an expansion pack, it's still fairly unlikely they'd announce it yet. But who knows. Just have to wait and see. Don't go getting your hopes up though.

They could call it "Diplomacy" and introduce diplomacy.
Anyway, since I live near Cologne I could go check it out.

Sins of a Solar Empire had an expansion called exactly that, Diplomacy, that added more diplomacy since the devs and fans thought the original was lacking in that department.

Though somehow i doubt that Firaxis would be as openly clear about it, and the expansion would probably be named something more obscure =)

Heh, I was going to reply exactly that.
Sins of a Solar Empire was pretty direct with the name of it's expansions (Entrenchment being the other Expansion, focused on the defensive side of things, which was also a bit lacking initially).

I hope Fireaxis is working on something big for Civ5 currently, but no announcement for now, it seems.
