I had an idea, about starting an NES, that essentially, took place in a rather nondescript lawn in Suburban america, in which all the participents were not human nations viying for wordlly power, and affulence, but rather, lawn gnomes competeing for ascendency of the front lawn, or the back porch, or the garden, or somthing along those lines. the NES woudl have, even though i hate them, preforme dnations like the "Nations fo the Porch Gnomes", or, thier particuler nemisis, the "PLF"- the Porch Liberation Front, and other such Gnomish oddities- before I made an NES, I wanted to know if anyoen would be interested in it.

if its successful, perhaps thier will be a chain of these "GNOME NES's"

definently a new idea, i would like to see how the rules worked before i would join any nes however.

whoa. my first post has ****ty spelling, even by my low standards of it.

I'm going to edit it, its so damn bad;

as for rules, the economic structure will be the "basic system" that is to say, you say you increse econ, it get sincresed, trade routes that result in a new econ every three turns and what not- you know, what we are all basically used to; troop types will have a harder go, but I expect snail riders to feature prominantelly in the final draft.

ssss snail riders?
you need to play Faerie Meat with the expansion pack puuurfect

anyway this sounds like a great idea
but I think we should have chainguns

gnome power!

can we be flamingos or lawn darts too?

no; these are to be actual little gnomes that inhabit ones garden- the lawn statuary is taken to be giant holy statues; same goes flamingos and what ever other sorts of lawn decorations are in existence.

that said, i dont knwo what a lawn dart is; can you explain; provide pictures and what not?

LOL. i'd join if only to cultivate my own breed of killer bees that i could then "chuck" at other gnome nations.

okay; I've decided that i will indeed launch this NES; now then, I'll get started on the map- you guys have coem with some good ideas so far, such as the "the bee chucker",

now then- why dont you guys coem up with other ideas; note, no guns though- these are lawn gnomes after all.

an idea I've had is for soem "strategic locations" on the map; such as trees (where bee hives can be created for gnomish natiosn harness thier bees for weapons, and thier gnomish airforces) the beehives, and other things like great lawn gnome statues, placed by the gods (the familly of the house) as great sacred relics.

anothe rmajor factor will be random events; lawn mowing, pool mateniance, the pizza dude, delivierng pizza, backyard foot ball, and lotsof other stuff will impact each update.

A lawn dart is a really huge dart thats filled with tranquilizers. IDK why it's decoration, but it's been banned in the United States. :(

I want a side of the pool, preferably comfortably shaded on hot days by a tree which is nicely positioned so in winter the sun will be shining from the other direction. ;)

on water I have plans for several "water features"- tentativlly, these include; a pool, a garden pond, and possible a bird bath (if it counts) and possible a turtle tank (turtels will be, obviouslly eenough, the most feared beasts of war in this NES, but also har to procure and train, for only at grea tloss of gnomish life and through great expense can they be tamed- let alone domesticated!)

On territories
so far, i have several factions layed out- unless I make this a "free start" Gnomish NES- which I might (of course the nation has to be named after the local main terrian feature)

such featuers woudl inclue- the pond and pol, patio, grill, compost heap, herb garden, flower garden, vegitabel garden- you get the idea

@Insane Panda- no the "grandlings" as people are called, are worshipped as lesser gods in thie rown right, for beign the great besotwer so the holy relics (lawn decorations)

I have decided thier will be two verities of turtles; land turtles (Tortuses/ "Tortii"), and water turtles- each has thier advatages, water turtles beign able swimmkers, and a potentially devastateing naval weapon, with limited land capabilties- on land however, land turtles will school water turtles like no tommorrow.

to make things interesting, the water turtles will be familly pets, located inside the house- so onyl through dareing and heroic raids will they be availible. land turtles will inhabit variosu area sof the lawn, and will be more dangerous to capture, int he wild. think white rhino, but twice the siz eof an elephant (if a gnome were the size of a man, and the turtle of equivilent size)

Can dogs be tamed for cavalry!

The charge of the light brigade!

no. too big, and not as amusing as turtles.
