General Election

Yup. We would have beat you to it if they wankers hadn't rallied the pensioner vote for the "No" case. The House of Windsor are an inbred bunch of Krauts that you would move hemispheres to avoid.
But, our odious little snail of a PM has a hard on the size of the Eiffel Tower for old Lillibet. Obsequisious little runt.

Andy, would be good to see what would happen if someone tried to do the egg job to Beazley. he'd probably get eaten alive...

Careful mein Kamarad Mongol Horde, with the convict jibes. My blood is completely free on both sides: Half Swedish and half Fenian. Remember that last half ain't pommie, IT'S IRISH!!!!!!!!!
We are handy at the old bombs and snipers, so I'd think twice about leaving your house for the next five or six years, as I'm making some calls right now....

However, you'll probably win back the Ashes, as all the Aussies are arrogant punks who are on the take from the Indians and Hahnsiiie... Bring Back Deano for us, and Hick for you blokes!!!!!

Ahhh I love it, The Aussies always bite on the convict jibe 200 years later. Even the ones whose blood is free on both sides.

Back on topic: Labour still has a 20 point lead in the polls. You have to feel sorry for Hague don't you even if he is a pathetic little w%$nker.

People in England who are perhaps unsure of their voting next month should take a look at this brilliant website...
http://www.whodoivotefor.co.uk/

Basically there's a 20 point questionnaire and they match your answers to the published policies of the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal-Democrats and Greens. The results can be surprising!

You guys outside the UK might like to have a go. We'd be interested in the results.

Not surprisingly, I came up Conservative...

some people mentioned the dreaded foot and mouth...

Once again the farming community relies on government rather than taking control of their own industry...which is never out of trouble.

The slaughter is merely due to the foolish requirements for trade...vaccinated cattle can't be exported. I am annoyed as the F&M crisis has forced me to do a geology mapping project abroad thus incurring greater costs even though the area I plan to go is some 300 iles away from the nearest f&m outbreak!

I will be voting labour as I believe that labour is not merely a one issue party like the conservatives (this election...previously conservatives had a raft of issues, now it is purely europe/foreigners). Labour will be more active this term -hopefully- in getting the money to the public services and getting Britain into the euro...and hopefully ending rip-off Britain!

I'm from outside the UK and I had a go.
My scores were.
  • Conservative: 31.58%
  • Green: 28.95%
  • Labour: 15.79%
  • Liberal Democrat: 23.68%
I guess I'm for anybody but Labour.

Seriously, I would be a Labour man, but a lot of my vote went to the piddly little LDP and even to the Tories (?) It was interesting to see how the various positions compared, however.
IMO, Blair will absolutely romp it in. If he doesn't, I will....

New polls out today Labour are still about 30 points in front. Makes you wonder how Hague gets out of bed evry morning.

If you want to complain about the lack of a multi party system, you Brits should take a look at the Canadian elections for the last ten years. Nobody has even come close to defeating the liberals. At least in Canada and the UK, democracy still decides who is leader (unlike the US), even though the selection isn't too great.

I am an American but I took this quiz out of curiousity and I was surprised at how well balanced my views are and at how close they were to the averages. Here are my results:

Conservative: 15.91%
Green: 22.73%
Labour: 34.09%
Liberal Democrat: 27.27%

and here are the average results of all votes totted up:

Conservative: 21.01%
Green: 21.19%
Labour: 32.07%
Liberal Democrat: 25.73%

I hope we can have better political education, like this pole, here in the states.

I love election days!

I was out at 7.00am this morning, going to vote before catching the 7.30 train to work in London. Outside the polling station were two party activists who asked if they could look at my official poll card. I said "No!".

There's nothing like being gratuitously surly first thing in the morning to brighten up the whole day!

Yeah, I have voted already. The primary school where I vote is about 10 seconds from my door so it wasn't a chore. In fact I bet I was one of the first few in.

I love watching it on telly as well. I will stay up as long as I can manage tonight to watch the results. What about you Stormy will you be up late tonight. And were you up last year for Portillo?

Ha ha ha ha ha - I love polls like that, here are my scores, not surprisingly I would say:

Conservative: 14.10%
Green: 28.21%
Labour: 21.79%
Liberal Democrat: 35.90%

I know that I like socialism, but I think that some of the European countries should be a little more liberal!!
