General Turn Discussion

OK, It's Saturns turn, so we need a decision quickly; at the moment we have:

Krill, Remake, General W, AutomatedTeller, Memphus, Ronnie1, Maybe Viva(?) wanting to move 77
civplayah wanting to move back east immediately.

So far the majority want to move north west.

I'll change to 77 for this next move...I just want to make sure we get back around to the east side before to long.

FOOD...early game is dominated by food resources...where ever we find food we need to settle. Even more important than copper imo for city #2.

I agree...but we will have to deal with barb archer fairly soon, and it's better for long term growth if we can actually survive getting rushed by chariots with spears instead of dying when we defend with just warriors.

Also, here is the big bonus from being creative: It is much easier to settle cities that grab every resource we need because of the free culture. Unless Sullla has been an absolute bastard (which I wouldn't put past him, but I'd trust him to make each team have balanced start so any problem we have another team should have) we should be able to plant for copper and fit a half decent food source into the city radius as well. Should...but we have to wait 19 turns to find out.

one nice thing about going NW is that we KNOW there is a cow to the SE, so even if we find NOTHING good NW, we know there is a site with a food resource on a river SE, which is better than nothing.

I feel the same. The problem comes when people don't post arguments, only opinions. There isn't any response apart from the incendiary "Your opinions suck" if one has already given the reasons for the counter argument.

I know this map is pretty crappy but it does it's job. The map shows how far we can explore if all goes well in 19 turns, it's just two basic variations on a theme. The green line does minimal scouting in the west to scout out as much info about the cow as possible. The reason we would need to agree settle the cow city by turn 19 is that is when we finish BW and can start on AH so that we can pasture the cows immediately. The green path would uncover all of the possible cow city sites fat cross tiles apart from two northern tiles, marked in yellow that we would uncover on turn 20 The red line was aimed as being more explorational, but as it doesnt scout the cow city sites enough I think green is a better way to go. Of course it is just a basic idea of how we can scout.

@Krill, That's what I wanted to do. BTW how do you put the picture in the spoiler (I know how to put a spoiler), but how do you get the picture on the page. I have always had to put the picture as a file at the bottom. These turns are going fast.

We should have something we should have to put in our sig so everyone one know were Awesome.

I placed the spoiler tags on teh page, then use image tags ({IMG} {/IMG}, replace {} with []) inside the spoiler, and copy past the link location into the image tags.

you have to upload the picture to the internet, either to, say, imageshack or CFC. If you post on teh "go advanced" screen, there is a button labelled "Manage Attachements", that brings up a new window. Near top of that window there is an "upload files from your computer" section, with a buttong containing the word "browse". Click that, search for the file, and click upload, and the file will be uploaded if it has an acceptable file extension (acceptable file extensions are noted beneath that box). submit the replay, and you can then edit the post and copy paste the mink into the poiler section.
