General Turn Discussion

I'm still here too but obviously you guys know a heck of a lot more about civ4 than I. Thanks for the great show so far.

I'm still here...and I will comment more when things get going again. Draft...Kill Kaz....I like that a LOT! :D
 
nothing interesting happenign right now. We go golden in 2 turns and I will do an update for that. then we turn research back on and get rifling in 6 turns and then we hit kaz.
 
Expect a big update this turn....Cav declared war on us. With 2 muskets....interesting. I am worried about a bunch of ships though.

Well the muskets are dead....as I said before boats are my big worry! We have no eastern troops. Not until we can draft.

The good news is we go golden thsi turn and can go to nationalism any turn, and draft. I jsut want them to be rifles and not muskets!

Totally agree, and you'd think they wouldn't have declared until they were ready to land either (a la MIA in the civ3 MTDG).
 
Ok I havn't finished the turn because I need a go-no-go on declaring on MS. they have a warrior that can cut our support road. we need to kill it as they can cut it next turn without declaring war.

That worker was ours.... :mad: why they didn't delete it? I have no idea.

After Collapsing our caravels in, and not seeing any boats yet , i have a new thought. Cav attacked us, but are planning to hit saturn. we are their decoy. Kaz is going to hit us with a stack in the FoW, but we can easily pummel that.

Basically we need to do this:
Survive for 5 turns until we get rifling. once we can draft oh boy we can set up nicely!
 
I think it's totally reasonable to give that unit a boot. They should understand that walking on a critical road is reasonable cause for giving them the boot but we have no beef with them.
 
I agree...boot it...and explain to them why we HAD to do it!
 
The word is "go". An explanation is useful, and if they want to go to war over a warrior who's out in the middle of our territory, about to cut a key road, well, let them :smoke:.
 
Ok Quick Update (big one in about 10 hours)

We are now at war with MS and Cav.
MS warrior is dead.
Cav's muskets are dead
We spawned our second GG
We went golden at the end of the turn.
We get RP next turn, and can get rifling 3 turns after that.

We can go to war with Kaz in 7 turns and have them out of the game in 19 unless cav has a real force they have coming at us.
 
Ok, it's time for everyone's favorite game show, Guess Cav's War Plans.

Possibility 1:
Cav decided to poach an available worker. This was their entire goal.

Why I find this unlikely:
a) They used 2 muskets, not 1.
b) The worker survived.
i) But, they might have thought they could actually survive for a turn (Clearly, a foolish decision)

Possibility 2:
Something is planned for next turn, but they tipped their hand because they wanted that worker. Much smarter, I think, would have been to wait a turn, let MS cut that road (would we have killed the warrior if cav hadn't declared war first???), then be ready to strike.

One if by land, two if by sea...
 
Well they have logged in already (and all eastern cities still stand)... Our Caravel net isn't great but it is out there and we have seen no ships....

Possibility 3:
Make it look like they are going to war with us, then actually hit saturn hard. While Kaz comes at us.

Kaz gets Rifling in 3, and Cav gets nationalism in 2.

BTW we can grab military tradition after (cavalry) in 3 turns.
 
We have Peace with MS. they didn't say anything.

Cav also advanced nothing else. Nor did Kaz Declare.

Anyone opposed to offering Cav 10 turns of peace? it will give us 10 turns to really hit kaz!
