Getting Pushed Out of Cities?

Alright, so I had a stack of a whole bunch of units in a city of mine that was not revolting. So Ethne and Thessa declare war on me and Thessa sends in her "stack of death". She has a whole bunch of generic non-hero, non-spell-casting units (as far as I could see, but I couldn't see the whole stack). She was attacking for awhile, but I think I won like every battle (even when her assassins were attacking my Hemah). Suddenly... all of my units get pushed out of the city (to the nearest neutral territory), and she takes it.

I had no idea what happened, but I took over the city again after taking care of Ethne's stack of doom. So then, in one turn, everybody in the game (Capria, Basium, Vahella, and Hannah) besides my vassals decides to declare war on me. Vahella sends in her stack of doom to take over my city. And... the same thing. Win, win, win, win, win... Assassins attack my Hemah (this time they kill him)... and suddenly... all my guys get pushed out of my city again. My three "Speakers" get pushed onto some nearby coastal boats I had, and my other units get pushed ALL the way up to the north pole (that was the closest neutral territory).

Soo... why do my guys keep getting pushed around all over the place?

I'd guess at least one of your defenders had the "Immortal" promotion. It got attacked, and lost, and reappeared in your capital city.

Unfortunately, when this happens, all your other units get pushed out of the city. The bug appears to be related to the immortality promotion - I've encountered it a lot in my own games, and we had an old thread about it here.

I also reported it on the 0.30 bug thread, but I suspect it got lost in the noise, especially because that was right before 0.31 came out, and I haven't really followed up on it.

Fear shouldn't do that if your stack is in a city; pretty sure there's a check in the code for that. Immortal is more likely to be the culprit methinks; that would also not give you a loss result in the log since it's implemented by makingthe unit withdraw before the killing blow lands, then teleporting them to the capital.
