Give bad advice

leaders actually work better as peaceful diplomats to your enemies rather than building armies

also, when a unit becomes promoted, it means it should be sent home for parades.

Capture a city in the middle of an enemys empire, then send all of your units to fortify in that city. The more culture surrounding that city the better!

You're all wrong. The thing to do is to move every worker and settler you have into the city, so they can help rebuild the damage from the attack quickly. Also, move all your artillery there, using codes based on the amounts of shots fired will ease communication between all those workers.

After all, it is what the AI does. :D

Entertainers are a useful way of fighting unhappiness. If one of your towns is unhappy, always use them to solve the problem.

Screw that. If you use the entertainers correctly, you won't have to worry about unhappiness ever. So make all your citizens entertainers, even if it means starvation! At least if they're hungry, they're not rioting.

Players of Civilization III, wake and smell the roses! All the articles in the strategy forum are lies written by people who have trouble understanding how to play Mystery Case Files. If it's touted as a rule or explanation of how things work, ignore it. Flee to the Technical Support forum and cleanse your mind of the advice of these so-called learned people. Delve into the minutiae of .ini files and Vista set-up parameters and slowly that artificial wisdom will be washed away.

If ye seek to improve thy gaming prowess, the OT forum is verily where ye need to be.

That is bad advice. You should always use luxury slider. It does not matter if it is only one person in one city who is unhappy, or if you have no income. Loan cash from other civs (you can pay in luxuries if you have some) so that you can use luxury slider.

It is bad advice, ville-v. That's why it's in the "Give bad advice" thread. ;)
Hang on. This thread is for bad advice? No wonder my games always turn out so poorly.

This thread is my bible. Why, I've progressed back to Chieftan in just 3 weeks of reading.

I didn't say I was winning....

I have only found two: the fun way and the CFC way.

Indeed. I used to try and make my gameplay better so that I could beat deity/sid, but now I just don't care. I play to have fun. And win. But mostly fun. Winning's nice too. But fun is more important. Okay, winning is more important.
