I was paying luxury resource to both Iroquios and Greece in hope that they will leave me alone, to avoid 3 vs 1 situation.

But that should only work up until Mecca falls. Once Mecca falls, ideally Rome should face a 3 vs 1 situation to prevent further snowballing. I guess it's only a game so Iroquios or Greece didn't bother to rally an alliance against Rome.

yea, now both of them have been paying for the mistake in the area of diplomacy

I dont mind dying. To many games. Plus I needed a game where I could pick a fight with Banman. Poorly chosen game perhaps but no matter.

In this game I'll probably just support the player who pays me the best, or die, horribly. Fine with either.

You should pick the 'small game invite' to exercise your muscle with him. The only game I planned peacefully and aim to go diplomatic victory. Now all cash exhausted and I got dragged back into the war path.

Re: this game, the Iroquois would have happily allied with Rome --> no chance of world domination with my combo of civ and starting position no worries though, good game!

Even with the greatest of walls on their side, the greek army could not withstand the might of the roman horde. The ones great Alexander was found dead in his quarters of the royal palace in Athens and the members of the greek parlament surrendered unconditionally to the Roman generals.
The last rebels in Corinth and Sparta could not hold on their own and fell shortly after the capitol.
