In the Italian theatre, Napoli was captured. This would normally end our actions against the Italians, wasn't it for the stupid Austrians. They "recaptured" Venice (actually they captured Florence), so we need to drive them out of this theatre. We are sorry that because of the Austrians, the Italian people need to suffer more months (or years) of war.

Peace would be great in central Europe, but it can only come when Great Britain has a solid continental presence on the continent to ensure stability. Hamburg is the strategic and logistical link between Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and therefore it is as important as them.

Well sir, that is your choice. Just remember the decision you are making in terms of your reputation. This is not capturing some neutral city-state which Britain has a desire for. You will rather be suddenly and deliberately attacking British troops themselves. There is a great difference, and you should hope Russia and Austria will stand by you after you indulge in such treachery. You will see that my troops will not once attack or even near yours, even though they know that you could attack at any moment. The fact that they will sacrifice their own defense as a gesture of peace should convince you that I am committed.

- No major news outside of the homeland except for the annexation of Amsterdam. Fearing the ravages of brutal Prussian expansionism (if you're going to dubiously exaggerate then so can I ), the Dutch Republic welcomed the protection of its former British enemies, and Amsterdam's garrison has offered to fight under the British flag. Further troops have been dispatched to the city. This substantial garrison combined with our naval might in the North Sea will certainly hold the city permanently, and it will soon be the springboard for any sort of advances against Prussian forces and cities, as our newly built steel foundries are already beginning to mass-produce new guns and infantry.

Well, what can I say, Sir- I believe Britain conquered a total of 4 cities in its Spanish venture and was stretching out for another 3 in Central Europe, making the number 7 !!! if Prussia had not intervened in British, all so "peaceful" natural growth ... Is Spain, Holland, Denmark not enough for you ?
(By the way: Prussia started off with only 7 cities altogether to deliver the right contrast !!!)
Prussia only ever claimed 2 cities (Leipzig and Frankfurt) and destroyed British forces in their attempt to steal Hamburg right under our noses- when we actually suggested the Neutrality of the city under present circumstances- but you wouldn't listen- I preferr the preemtive strike and destroy the puny British excuse for a land army, rather than waiting for Britain to make itself comfortable in lands that are not of their own (by the way- Prussia has not fired a single shot at Hamburg as loyalty to the Emperor is strong and growing in this city and it is expected they will soon rejoin the Empire under Prussian formal authority, as did the citizens of Frankfurt) I am not sure that the peoples of Spain had so much luck when British cannon ball were knocking on their doors... ()

Your excellency, you must be trying to make a joke, Austria and Russia were your allies from the start when the French Campaign in Africa started- Prussia was at Peace with Britain, and so was France after your treaty with their great Nation- THERE WAS PEACE - before Britain decided not to bother about it...

This is the situation: I´m playing with Austria. so, when i conquer Milan, 3 Neutral Infantry (owned by France) appear all over the place.
Is that normal? Is a problem of my version of the scenario? Something related to the events file? Or do they work like the partisans in the regular CIV2?

Please!! Answer as soon as you can!! I wanna know if this is ok.

Uhm, it is "normal" it is actually the partisan figure- what is a bit out of order is that the neutrals were supposed to get this ability for the war in Spain (like guerilla appearing from nowhere)- I think the French must have gotten this tech somehow... I 'd play on as is- but pleas give me some feedback on your impression of this feature (I could make it Spain-exclusive or sth). Also in the case of Germany there were volunteers that joined the Liberation Wars after Napoleon's defeat in Russia...

Apart fom this the Neutrals are gonna get a different loking foot unit- yellow is historically acurate- but only for a few regiments (most of them were either white with blue, or the later blue and white/yellow). So that may well fix the present "weirdness" of the situation with having Spaniards appearing...
