GNBv3, PBEM 2

damn, man, read the thread. um, I'm Britain. hope your mistake didn't affect your turn. Also, I'm allied with France and am going to change my government to the same kind as theirs.

FLORENCIA
Apparently conflict arose betwween France advances in the vincinity of Austrian owned Venecia (?)- Austria "retaliated" by taking Florencia !!! In defense of the Holy Empire Prussia will stand alongside our Austrian brothers in arms !!!

HOSTILITY
Again Prussia voices its concern over the situation and hopes France and Austria will find common ground for peaceful coexistence. Also we hope France is not blindly following the ideas of others- sacrificing the proud French people while others gloat in the light of our misery. I am sure this misunderstanding will be straightened out

STABILITY
Prussia and Austria urge their Russian Cousins to aid the Great Houses of Europe and stand together against any foe, before we may be isolated and fall one after another.

Sorry men!! :(
I made a huge mistake :crazyeye:

Nevertheless, you are betraying european monarchies. How the hell did you make an alliance with Napoleon? Are you insane?

We negotiated in secret and I got enough to make it worthwhile.

Also, I wanted to make the game more interesting than just another GNB game. Imagine how it could have went if France's revolutionary ideals had spread to England, where, after all, much of the revolution's philosophy had first sprung, under Locke and Hobbes, for example. Or perhaps Britain had remained a monarchy, but it had a leader with more aggressive tendencies. Beats the hell out of the usual, boring, everyone vs. France game where France has no chance.

Y don't you repost your turn? If that is ok with you guys ???:)

---

In the other GNB3 MP game we are at times very afraid that France may actually sink Britain and Spain alltogether  ... the way the game developes depends greatly on the pattern of play, caution, ... and luck :crazyeye:

Fine by me.

Don´t worry guys. I won´t change anything. let´s continue with the game.

*Baden captured.
*Caïro captured.
*At war with Austria, but you can descide to move out your troops of Florence and go back to Venice or Triest. I haven't made any big offencive yet to get it back. We can live peacefully together.
To Prussia and Russia. I don't want war with you either. I guess W.I.N.T.E.R and Darius were playing some kind of game yesterday. I don't like poker. Now is the time to make up, before it's too late and there is a European war.

And the map

*Prussia announces a break through in the field of home economy, and studies of the republic. As may be expected, this may well mean business, for the right price...

*Following recent British claims for Copanhagen, Amsterdam and Hamburg, Prussia renews its claim for Hamburg (no claims on the other two are being made) and Frankfurt (the disident Prinz of Baden has long been a thorn in Prussian flesh, and may be imprisoned in France if so desired), with München and Baden to lay within the Austrian sphere of interest.

---

*A cease fire has been signed with the Neutral vincinities for the time being. Prussia still claims all German territories to join the Empire, either on Prussian or Austrian sides- it was announced today that separate deals may be undertaken with Britain, "should it behave itself".

*Prussia suggests for Austria -if it so wishes- to demilitarise the vincinity of Florencia- perhaps common ground can be found for both sides to benefit out of this mishap. Prussia will back Austria whatever its decission, yet also states that war between our great nations on the European mainland is not the most pleasent option. Perhaps an exchange of cities could take place between Florencia and Baden ?!!?

Three Black Eagles roam the skies

The Prussian Kingdom announces a huge recent diplomatic success by forming a defensive alliance with the Russian Hegemony. The two monarchs are currently on the Krim holding celebrations of the novel treaty and the scientific excelence to be shared within the boundry. Great expectations are directed towards the expected arrival of the Kaiser.

A special envoy of First Consul Napoleon has brought foreward a personal message written and signed by General Bonaparte himself, in which he states not being keen for waging a continental war - yet he will declare war if forced to and Austria does not retreat from Florencia...

*exact wording and remaining contents of the letter have been censored*

Well, I see Russia has refused my generous offer. Although it seems too late to reconsider, I must remind you again how little you have to gain from Prussia.

More importantly, however, I must stress to both Russia and Austria that the Republican ideals of France and more recently Britain are no threat to your monarchies. We have absolutely no interest in waging war to extend our ideals, we will only use war as a means to defend our ideals.

Also, since the deal I have offered Nicholas is scrapped, my treasury is liberated to give to other diplomatic purposes:

How about 300 gold for Hamburg?

P.S. Looked at your map Yop; when did I ask for Palermo?

Are you kidding me Napoleon? You are asking me to retreat from Florence? Why don´t you leave Rome first? You are the one who invaded Italy. i´m just trying to protect it from you.
And then you say that "you don´t want war". Let me ask you, who did start this conflict? Austria, Prussia, Russia?
Sorry Nap, but i´ll fight to the bitter end.

Prussia understands British concerns about being left out from future power plays, and needing bases on European soil to actively pursue European politics and diplomacy- leave alone its novel defense strategy. Also, the map suggests British needs for some sort of connected landmass (although I think it could make use of its excellent naval forces to keep cities like Copenhagen and Amsterdam well supplied).

The problem is just that the mere strategic position of Hamburg is too close to Berlin for Prussia to feel confortable about any other (non-neutral) nation taking posession of it. At the time it would be unwise for either of the two of us to occupy it, as the possibility of a war flaring seems ever greater given the situation in Italy. Prussia (or Britain) may be forced to take 'undesirable' actions in such a case- lets hope for the best...

the -overstated- British imperialistic tendencies.

do I look like someone who cares what you have decided in your own grace, sunbathing in the light of your non-existent glory- for I have seen little to suggest British supremacy over central Europe???

Well, such glory has come.

- In a lightning quick strike, a British fleet annihilates the entire Spanish navy! Through a brilliant coordination of bombardments and landings, British troops, in their “nonexistent” glory, capture the three cities of Granada, Cartagena, and Cadiz, the latter of which further extended Britain’s naval prowess with the seizing of the Spanish Seacharts. Now only Cordoba remains on Britain’s checklist in Spain.

- The British navy also engaged the combined Scandinavian ships off Denmark, despite limited ships available. One lone ship of line sank four neutral alliance ships, caught off guard and stacked in two crowded clusters. Only a lone Vasa was left alive. The absence of an enemy navy allowed troops to safely land on the fields just outside Hamburg, which will be taken very soon.
Our scouts report that no Prussian forces were anywhere near the city with the exception of some cavalry, which are useless against Hamburg’s walls. The only threat in the area is if Friedrich has the gall to attack our forces outright, a move which would likely damage his reputation.

- Full pirate ship sunk off Ireland; only one remains.

- Finally, Britain has declared war on the Ottoman Empire to assist her French ally. Immediately the entire infantry garrison at Damascus was destroyed by bombardment.

Meanwhile, King George has decided to remain neutral in the war between Austria and France, at least until Yopoleon contacts him on the subject.

At the time it would be unwise for either of the two of us to occupy [Hamburg]

Nah, don’t think so. Too bad.

As it seems that Britain has no intention of keeping peace within Central Europe: Instead of listening to my warnings- or aiming for the other targets in question, Britain has decided to cast Prussia's concerns aside, pushing towards contested territory-

I leave no doubt about it that any British forces encountered in the vincinity of Hamburg will be destroyed- be that before or after the attack on the city- Retreat or be destroyed :skull::skull::skull:

If you push too far, we shall start pushing you back into the sea!

Peace would be great in central Europe, but it can only come when Great Britain has a solid continental presence on the continent to ensure stability. Hamburg is the strategic and logistical link between Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and therefore it is as important as them.

any British forces encountered in the vincinity of Hamburg will be destroyed

Well sir, that is your choice. Just remember the decision you are making in terms of your reputation. This is not capturing some neutral city-state which Britain has a desire for. You will rather be suddenly and deliberately attacking British troops themselves. There is a great difference, and you should hope Russia and Austria will stand by you after you indulge in such treachery. You will see that my troops will not once attack or even near yours, even though they know that you could attack at any moment. The fact that they will sacrifice their own defense as a gesture of peace should convince you that I am committed. I will make certain that you fire the first shot.

Game on, Russian Military on High Alert as tensions in Central and Southern Europe grow.

* München fell into Austrian hands
* Baden destroyed after a fierce battle between french and austrian armies
* We won´t retreat from Florence
* Alliance with England cancelled
* Alliance with Austria signed
