Goldflash's Altered tech Tree Mod

tried to play a hotseat w/my bro... and i can't seem to save!?

Darn, and just when Cuba was the dominant power on earth.... oh well

Anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?

Now I'll give you some actual feedback....
-I noticed some of the civilopedia links don't work, adn some descs are missing, although the units do.
-The title of the leader of the Austrian civ should be Archduke, not Emperor.
-Soldato is Mexican, not Aztec; similarly Italian Inf. is Italian, not Roman Empire (a good replacement would be kinboat's industrial legion) - I can understand what you did, but it just feels wierd.
-Consider changing the Agricultural trait of America to Militaristic, or at least expansionist, as although the "heartland" is a virtual cornicopia, the U.S. currently spends 47% of the world's defense spending, and was (and still is) willing and able to use violence to expand terretorially and economically. between the Indian wars, Jackson in florida, the Mex-Am war, the Spain-Am war etc. etc. we more than qualify as a militaristic culture. but enough ranting.
-tech tree arrows not there
-Consider dividing Monarchy into Absolute Mon. and Constitutional Mon. It just seems there is a light-years of diff between a monarch with divine right and all that jazz, and one who operates under law.

Anyways, GREAT MOD MR.GF You rule :king:

Hi :)

I may sound silly ...but I just got my Civ3 no PTW no Conquest

(Yep I am lagging in the time department here)

I would like to ask about how to install your great MOd onto my Civ3

The Art and Text Folder I know but the BIQ files should go into which dir??

Sorry for a Lame Question

I don't think there is a way to make a mod like this isn't vanilla civ3, without coping everything in the Biq over to a Bic. Sorry :(.

hi !

i wanted to play your mod, but i cant see the new resources on the map, only their shadows ..
additionally the resource quarry has no picture in the civilopedia ..

does somebody else experience this problems ?

And I noticed you spelt 'and' wrong. :D I'm working on the pedia. But sometimes the link don't want to work even when they're correct! ???

No. Too many militaristic cultures already.

Yeah, the Ancient, Middle, and Industrial Ages should have arrows in 1.3 or 1.4. Modern era needs work

Hi. Been a lurker here for a while

Anyway this scenerio looks pretty good. Few points though, mostly on japan.

1. Japan shouldn't be Seafaring. Yes it is an island nation, but it never was a seafaring nation except during the actual wartime of WWII (and a couple cities on China's coast it had taken late in WWI). Deftinatly not worthy of the bonueses seafaring gives as that's ~quarter of a century.

2. Instead IMO Japan should get Industrious. Its much more fitting to their culture that takes what it wants and adapts it.

3. Zero units should have leathal land bombardment as well. It was the first fighter to be able to defeat land based opponents and i can't think of another way to represent this. This also puts it compreable with a Spitfire which has everything the Zero has and extra hp despite being at the time about the same adavancement level.

4. Rename Congress to Legislature...theire are other froms of this branch than Congress.

5. I do not know if this is within the scope of your mod, but you should make some of the religious wonders flavored so only certain cultured civs can produce certain ones, FE Ise-Jingu Temple and Taj Mahal shouldn't be built by anyone, same for Canterburry Cathedral. Same would go for normal imporvements like catherdrals as well.

6. It wouldn't be too hard to do since you have the image, but you could add Tokyo Tower which is almost an exact replica of the Eiffel Tower (just a bit more modernized). It could give less benifits, FE just the +1 trade in every square that produces just one and less culture.

Like what, Parliment? Parilement is coming in an update as the special wonder for Constitutional Monarchy

Yeah, I was going to do something like that, but then I didn't.

No.

Thanks for you feedback!

That's pretty rude to some constuctive critisim, espically when what you have is completely unhistorical and has no merit besides Japan being an island nation.

In that case never mind.

Oh It has plenty of Merit. They had one of the finest navies in the world for over fifty years, and they rely on ocean travel for trade and food. Seafaring makes alot of sense.

Just wondering your maps dont have a lot of AI civs 12 for large and 16 for huge i think, did you do this to have fewer but i imagine larger AI civs and to speed up the game or are there other reasons.

Dude, thats how it is in Default. And I'm pretty sure Huge is 320x320 with 31 civs

My mistake i misread the info in the editor, and i've been playing mods with more AI players than the default recently.

50 years huh? And how long does civilization cover? Their relance of fishing and trade pre-Meiji Restoration and likely pre-war was minimal. They had FE no navy, no large merchant ships, etc. And post-war they have no navy as well to this day.

Bottom line is they don't deserve the benfits of seafaring when others like industrial or a lesser extent Scientific and Agricultural would go better. 50 years is not something to base this on when you have a game that spans millenia and there are other more apporpiate options.

Feel fre to change it in our copy of the Biq. i'm not changing it in mine.

Also, there are currently 12 Civs with the Industrious trait and 11 with seafaring (including Japan). If I were to make Japan Industrious there would be 13 Ind and 10 Sea.. thats too much of a discrpepency.

Also, JFYI, There are 15 Mil Civs, 9 Exp Civs, 10 Sci Civs, 11 Rel civs, 14 Com Civs, and 11 Agr civs.

I gave 2 other alternatives that could also work if industrial isn't right for you.

Star_trek5 has PMed me about a game crashing Error when you research Military Tradtion. Has anyone else gotten this?

And there is a new screenshot.

1. No, I don't get that error (unless I'm thinking of the wrong tech, which I doubt).
2. Where is the new screenshot?
