(Ummm... not that anyone thought so around the 19-60's, but Christianity actually survived Communist persecution in China and to a certain degree flourished and spread, especially after the laws started to be relaxed again. These days IRL there might be something between 30-130 million Christians in China.)

PS. Anyone interested in defensive technology Goober? I suppose my government has a lot of experience in launching satellites, building bunkers, defensive fortifications, etc. () and so on...?
I'll send a list of buyers I think might be interested.

Diplo. to SADETO
-----------------
SADETO should develop some weapons of it's own in order not to fall behind.

(PS. Goober, would it be possible to seperate Qatar, The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau from NZ state in the stats.? I'd like to mobilize in seperate states some times, and be able to put more detailed military stats. in there.)

OOC: I am somewhat concerned by a clearly anti-Communist player who swore to destroy me and fight me in every NES after I invaded Australia joining as a Communist Nation, that has previously worked very closly with Russia.

OOC I'd like the Olympic games to be held in Tokyo, it can hold land and water games, as well as winter (I think). Instead of the Olympics, can we call them the Peace Games or something like that? Promotes world peace, healthy competition, etc. Oh and one event I'd really like to see is some sort of martial arts or fighting tournament.

monday is the usual update time.

OOC: Yeah, well,it's not like you can stop me from taking a nation, you're just a player.

@ Hellfury - Ignore what i said in that PM to you. I didn't read your story when I sent that.

For the record, i am allowing fantasmo to take the FARC, but he has been suitable warned about commiting certain actions that can be deemed "unrealistic".

Another note - It has come to my attention that some feel afraid to ask me questions, or point out flaws in my Updates, or actions. Please, if I have made an error, please tell me. Even if it is something small, like I mis-spelt something in the stats. I don't like making errors. I will NOT punish you for speaking out, I will NOT land a meteor in your capital, nothing of the sort. I am, generally speaking, a reasonable person.

And I am still working on those Olympic Rules.

Next update is Monday.

I have made this new thread because, according to T, any thread with over 1,000 posts starts slowing the Forum down, so by making a new thread, i did my own small part to ensure that this Forum runs smoothly.

With all due respect goober, i still think you want to land a meteor on my capitol... :p

No, I wouldn't land a Meteor . . . just a Nuke or 2 . . . but you must be paranoid, i doubt anybody is afraid of me. I am as gentle as the melodic humm of my computer . . .

And you once said that your computer sometime spluttered and made strange and wierd noises...

State of the Nation Address
Ferdinandia E. Marcos
Ph_pres_quezon.jpg

People of The Philippines the State of our Nation is strong.
(applause)
It is a shame that people around the world cannot enjoy the freedoms of democracy that we enjoy. As such I will add onto my predecessors work of putting money into the NAC and continuing to support the spread of democracy worldwide.
(applause)
Fortunately for us our younger generation hasn’t seen the atrocities of WW4 but many other countries have. We must help our friends and allies across the sea.
(applause)
That is why I am for dedicating 1/8 of our budget into reconstruction and helping children deal with losses and help provide them with food, water and other necessities.
(applause)
If another world war breaks out the human race on earth might not survive. But we have another option, Project Survival headed by Brazil and the CU, both allies of us. We can help by donating much of our budget so that the human race can survive.
(applause)
Fortunately we hope we don’t need to make use of it.
(applause)
The NAC will provide the world with a force to help protect itself by quickly eliminating major threats to democracy and to the survival of our world.
(applause)
We must continue to expand and better our military for the NAC to be successful. We must start a project to train our troops, and to upgrade our current tank force.
(applause)
We must also build ships to protect our island chain from invaders.
(applause)
Use of Biological agents is a spreading problem, the CER, UIA, Spain and others have used them. We must find a way to defend ourselves. By research into anti-virus medicine we can help improve our odds of containing an epidemic.
(applause)
By improving our military we can successfully defend our nation, thankyou.
(applause)

Breaking News!

3 dozen top ranking officials in the Chinese Government have been arrested for attempting to assassinate Chairman Deng! Their plot were uncovered by elements of the Chinese Secret Service and they were promptly arrested for attempting treason. Their individual 1 month long trial for each of them has proven them all guilty of TREASON against the Chinese State and sentenced to the firing squad. After their execution, a liberal in the People’s Congress proposed a bill to ban the Death Sentence. It was voted down by a overwhelming majority, all but 5 congressmen voted to keep the death sentence…

In other news, Chairman Deng after the uncovering of the assassination coup has retired at the age of 64 and has returned to his family farm to rest from the Political Intrigue of World Politics. However, he has designated as his successor Jiang Zemen who has accepted the nomination of President of the People’s Republic as well as General Secretary of the Communists Party of China. He says that he will stabilize China and bring China into the new prosperity beyond!

Let us all hope that our retired Chairman Deng live a long and prosperous life!

Goober come online.

I have been online, lol.

ANNOUCMENT FROM THE UNITED ISLAMIC STATES

Our elections are three months away (when Goober updates), to elect the first congress of the United Islamic States. While individual nations will retain sovereignty for the time being, given certain conitions placed on the UIS, the UIS expects itself to be a fully intergrated union within the next decade.

Having said this and also keeping to the spirit of the Treaty of Yatla, we invite international observers in to inspect the destruction of our remaining stockpiles of ratpox, some 100 warheads, and futhermore also invite international observers to oversee the implementation of the Islamic Nuclear Power Commission for peaceful use of the atomic energy theories.

Futhermore we call upon Spain and the African Federation to allow the same to occur, and call upon all nations still possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction to follow our lead in their destruction and removal from the world scene to prevent another nuclear holocaust falling over our heads.

Colonel Gaddafi, Libyan Leader and Chairman of the United Islamic States consititution assembly.

occ: Just so you know when the elctions are run, I will be leaving the results entirely up to Goober, even the political parties. When it is run then I will be able to formulate a better view on the policies of the new 'government'
