OOC: Goobs, how comes Nigeria (wants to) split from the AF? before you froze the game a Nigerian president was elected to head the AF and most of the economy budget went to rebuild Nigeria.
Anyway, being a federation the member states, under international law, do NOT have the right to secede and therefore any state that declares that intention is and will be simply treated as a minor insurgency.

OOC - Because you kinda attacked them, and VXed millions of their citizens. They kinda hate the AF, and fairly rightfully so. After i unpaused it, well, things started sliding downhill for the AF.

To India,
From Thailand,

That is acceptable. We agree.

Let us end the uneasiness between our peoples and show mutualy friendship and harmony by signing a NAP.

The Democratic Republic of Nigeria

First Ever Democratic Elections!

Following months of interim Government rule a constitution has been debated and decided upon, Nigeria is finally prepared for its first ever truly democratic elections. All the main parties have been campaigning hard over the past four weeks as they seek to become the first elected government of Nigeria.

There is though a dangerous underlying current of uncertainty surrounding the elections and their results and what they may mean for Nigeria. Tensions have grown between Muslim and Christian groups in the nation since independence was declared and it is clear that whoever is elected as the new government must do all they can to bridge the gap between these two groups.

The Main Parties:

National Christian Unity Party - Strongly Christian party committed to protecting the rights of Christians. Hard-liners in the party are known to be very intolerant of the Muslim groups although they are a minority and the majority, including leader Taneka Obefemi, are sensitive to the issues of the Muslim community and support bridging the divide spliting the nation.

Islamic People's Party - Most popular Islamic party in Nigeria enjoying widespread support among the Muslim communities. Similar to the NCU they have a hardcore minority who are opposed to co-operation between the two faiths but once more the majority are prepared to work towards a united Nigeria. Leader Mubarak Mustafa is a moderate member of the party keen on protecting Islamic traditions in the nation and enjoys great support within the party.

Catholic Action Party - A hard-line Catholic group who want to see stricter laws to prevent the "moral decay" of Nigeria. Support limited to strongly Catholic communities in the nation's West. Led by Reverend Aralie John Utuku a fundamentalist who is known to have little respect for the Muslim communities in Nigeria.

Nigerian Socialist Worker's Party - Enjoy moderate support in the small industrial areas of Nigeria. Leader Hansay Tutsi-Kaneda is a distant relative of former President Kaneda, he is more moderate in his opinions than most in his party and while he is respect by other politicians he does not have great support from his party comrades.

Election Results:

Presidential Elections (% of Public Vote):

Islamic People's Party (IPP) - Mubarak Mustafa 52%

National Christian Unity Party (NCU) - Taneka Obefemi 39%

Catholic Action Party (CAP) - Rev. Aralie John Utuku 8%

Nigerian Socialist Worker's Party (NSW) - Hansay Tutsi-Kaneda 1%

Senate Elections (Out of 36 seats):

NCU 19 Seats

IPP 17 Seats

House of Representatives Elections (Out of 400 Seats):

IPP 198 Seats

NCU 190 Seats

CAP 11 Seats

NSW 1 Seat

Aftermath of Results:

With Mubarak Mustafa winning a clear majority in the Presidential Elections he has become the first democratically elected President of Nigeria. In the Senate though his party the IPP has two less seats that the NCU, also having not secured a majority in the elections to the House of Representatives, he will know he has to tread carefully in his policy if he is to pass the legislation he wants. This has already been shown by his willingness to include several prominent NCU members in his Cabinet to try and favour support.

Nigeria is now looking at a bright new future. But, how bright it will be depends alot on how the nations politicians work together in running Nigeria.

The African Federation does not recognize the Nigerian secessionist government as lawfull, nor it recognizes any secessionist faction, all rebels shall executed for treason to the federation.

Take your rhetoric somewhere else. The AF is a dead force, no-one in Africa wants to be run by a corrupt and power-hungry Government in Cape Town. Just accept that South Africa's dominance over Africa is finished and that the people of Africa are finally waking up to the realities of democracy and indepedence.

Let us move away from the days of imperial rule and finally allow our people to exist in peace and harmony and freedom.

Yours,
President Mubarak Mustafa of Nigeria

In an effort to foster peace in Africa and end this continent's struggles and woes I invite you to attend a conference between our nations so that we may begin to create a new understanding and coalition. In order to defeat the poverty and disease that is killing so many millions in Africa every day we need toi work together and not against. Let us accept the independence of African nations and strive to create a new peace.

Yours,
President Mubarak Mustafa of Nigeria

To Japan,
From United Korea,

Before that occurs, we demand an official apology for the hardships placed upon the korean people's when you were our colonial Master before and during the second World War. We also demand that you immediately dismantl the Yusunki Shrine, which commerates the evil Japanese Villiansx which so tortured and harmed our people, and the people of Asia. Those War Criminals are evil, and we demand that the shrine be torn down immediately. Furthermore, we demand that you stop assissting those Traitors in Korea who flee our regime. After those 3 conditions are met, then we can sign an NAP with your nation.

OOC - This Article describes the offending shrine, and he is referring to you helping some of the Koreans fleeing his regime in boats to your country. The ones I mentioned in the update, the ones the koreans usually kill in cold blood, without a trial.

Nice stories Dexter.

Check your PMs Toteone.

Everyone, I have included a new thing in the Stats, called Space Statistics, first page, 6th post, first Spoiler. There is a rudimentary map of the moon, and some details about who has what floating around in Space. If anybody has a better Map of the moon, I would be most happy to see it, and perhaps use it.

To Japan
From China

We second Korea's request to dismantle the Yusunki Shrine as it is disgraceful to honor those that died in WWII committing war crimes, killing civilians and etc in Mainland Asia.

To India
From China

We will be lessening troops, however, we cannot accept a trade agreement this year.

To: China and Korea
From: Japan

We will not dismantle the Yusunki Shrine, it is a memorial to lives lost. We will, however, bar any honoring of known war criminals in the shrine.

We also issue a public apology to all nations harmed in World War Two, but that was a different era and a different government.

As for these so-called Korean "traitors," they are refugees, and they have been granted political asylum. Japan is not a nation which will renounce its protection to the weak and helpless.

To the Philippines

The Russian Federation is extremly concerned with the Philippines' attempt to force other nations to do what the Philippines wants them to do. We would like to remind you that the Philippines is by no means a power great enough to order or demand anything in this world, and we suggest your rhetoric is softened unless you want to make a lot of enemies.

From the Great Power Philippines
To Russia

We would greatly prefer you don't dictate our foriegn policy. Russia, in the Philippines eyes, has by no means enough power to do such a thing. Our comment about the destuction of Korea is simply stating that we will retaliate if they launch a nuclear strike on us.

From The Philippines
To North Korea

Thankyou. We will agree to this deal. A team of observers is getting ready.

Aftermath-
The lack of a article in the “New Republic” bill specifying what would happen if a tie accorded. In the bill it said for the Supreme court to rule on the matter. But according to the constitution the Supreme court needs a all members to vote in order to rule on a matter. 2 judges recently died and needed to be replaced by the new president, which didn’t exist yet. Continual tensions inbetween the DP and the RA broke out into a brothel on the House Floor in-between a DP representative and a RA representative. The two parties meet behind closed doors, since if this lack of the president continued it could result in a civil war, creating a extremely unstable region. As such the two parties agreed to a non-partisan government lead by Franklin Person of the Rightist Alliance, with Vice President Alberto Laural of the Democratic Party. The DP’s electorates voted for Franklin Person, therefore ending the disput.

From United Korea,
To Japan,

If you do not comply with our very reasonably demands, then we will refuse to sign any NAP between our great nation and yours. The Yusunki Shrine is an affront to all Korean Worker's. And those fleeing our Worker's Paradise are nothing more then traitors, who wish for the destruction of our nation. We kill them because that is what our Free and Fair Laws stipulate. Those who are traitors to our nation are sentenced to death. Instantly.

Awsome Elections aren't they :)

Speach by President Person

It is time to embark on a new era of enlighment. Many suffer around the world. Soem from tyranical dictatorships, or from human rights abuses. We must free this people. Others still suffer from starvation, country destabilization, and genocide. We must free these people. Others here at home are under the false impression that inoccent blood must be spilt in order to achieve their goals. We must free those people too from those ideas.

OOC: 1st person, the huge maps with the Fillipino isles are getting on my nerves... Couldn't u please send the boring election stuff via PM to Goober? no offense meant of course
