WNN Special Report: The South American Tigers
Historically, South America has never been an economic super-power. They have been beset by intense poverty, and have stagnated. Their economic growth have been, well, sluggish for years. People have lived in intense poverty for as far as they can remember. But, all that has changed. It all was initiated by Argentina, and SADETO. SADETO has been the cause for this economic miracle in South America, and the root of everything is Argentina.
It all started with everybody coming to the same conclusion - that they had a role to play. That their past history of high tariffs and taxes on each other could not sustain them. There was resistance, not everybody was on side at first, noteably Colombia. But, all signed on. And the effect was momumental. All nations agreed to drop all tariffs against each other, and then they began the arduous task of conforming their banking, and other such laws. After this, their economies started to grow, and the people started to feel the effect, as companies that were formally in countries that had been Nuked as a result of 17/62 started moving to South America, which had been mostly spared.
Things only continued to get better for South America, as their new laws encouraged businesses to move to South America. As wars raged in Europe, Africa, and aro9und the world, none occurred in South America, except for the bizarre invasion of Panama and Equador by Colombia. But, aside from that, and the continuing thorn of Bolivia, rthe only Communist state in South America, and the 2 colonies in South America, Suriname and French Guinea, things have never been better for South America. Those economic reforms continued, and the people responded. New waves of patriotism and pride of their nations are sweeping this continent. DemoFascist Governments, initiated by Brazil, as taking root. Right-wing ideologies are the dominant force here. And Brazil also had a major force to play in this. Argentina, after facing massive peaceful protests calling for Socialism, and Communism, gave in, and soon became quite a Socialist state.
So South American nations turned to Brazil to lead them, and Brazil took up the role eagerly. South America is set to adopt a common currency, and the economic growth has continued unabated. Particularly in the Falklands Islands, who now has one of the hottest economies in the world. It seems bizarre, but these very small islands have managed to attract billions in investments, and have made maximum efficiency of the land that they control.
But there are some bumps oin the horizon. Primarily Colombia, who attacked Belize, Guetemala, and Mexico. Then Colombian forces got horribly defeated. Colombia opeople, after having been repressed by the cruel Colombia dictator, are rebelling against their leader, and looking to the FARC, or the PDRC, the rebel group in the East of Colombia demanding a Communist Colombia State. Panama has declared independence, and joined SADETO. SADETO also needs to ensure that they are not facing any political instability. DemoFascism is, by its nature, rather anti-Communist. pro-Communist revolutions were attempted in Uruguay and Paraguay, and Brazil, and all were brutally crushed. So South American Nations need to ensure that they have no rebel groups, as rebel groups are quite bad for their economies. South America also needs to ensure that they don't ednter into any wars. South American instracture has boomed, but all that can be destroyed in a war with, say, the Communist Coalition over Colombia, or Bolivia.
Indeed, South America has no where to go but up. But they need to ensure that they don't trip over any bumps, and fall flat on their face along the way.
OOC - This was a long time in coming. I intend on doing more of these as we go along, kinda like mini-updates, but with more of a general purpose, encompassing general trends. If you have any suggestions, please, tell me.
