Pre-turn - Communism is really a painful government, scroll through cities to get a couple of tanks earlier.

The spacerace is progressing well for the AI, we will need heaps of luck to stop it.

Our stack by Edrine is reinforced by a bunch of infantries.

1772AD - Make a cup of coffee while Russia throw bombs to the left and the right.

Ottomans and Babs sign peace.

Massive bombardment at Edrine finally get down the enemies to 1 hp.
Kill 11 TOW's and an infantry, capture 11 arties and 13 workers, many of them are our people. The city have Leo's and Hoovers.

Clear another stack of TOW's sitting on OUR iron :D Get a leader and we have a tank-army.

Osman is down to 15 mechs and 37 TOW's and some mixed stuff.

1774AD - It's funny how the russian bombers destroyed barracks here and there and we build reg tanks :lol:

Kill 10 turks.

I feel so devious after 2 arties bombard Osman's oil, no more bombers or mechs for him.

Check out Russia, 133 mechs is decent. They have 2 modern armors so far.

1776AD - Russia add another part to their spaceship.

Propaganda and sabotage hits.

Oslo flips to Vikings. :rolleyes:

We take Konya from Ottomans, that's the pretty useless town on the east coast. Kill some stuff around and get another leader, who rushes Military Academy in Umma.

We have enough for an immediate steal, take AT from Babs. I want Electronics next.

1778AD - The normal IT with bombers and destroyers all over the place, but we manage to shoot down 2 bombers.

We build Military Academy, but armies will take 13 turns until we get out of warmode. 4 turn carriers in Umma instead.

Plant a town inside turkish borders.

Bombard and take Antalya, size 16.

It takes just about an eternity to sort out policemen and stuff in cities to get tanks quicker.

1780AD - Steal Electronics from Vikings.

Plop down another combat settler near Aydin.

Kill some assorted Babs and turks, get a leader. Another army.
Take Aydin.

Pound Istanbul with the rest of the arties, fail to make a dent really. Investigate the city and they are building a ICBM! They have 3 mechs and 11 TOW's, the city has to go soon, the nuke will be done in 8 turns.

1782AD - Russia land 2 mechs and 2 tanks, kill them.

It looked like Osman moved out a few TOW's from Istanbul. Pound it again, now with all arties we have. It takes everything we have but we capture Istanbul and destroy their spaceship! :)

1784AD - Fail to steal from Vikings.

Kill some stuff, get a leader and rush Pentagon.

Remember we got Bach's by capturing Istanbul and we can lower luxes to zero.

1786AD - Babs add another part to their spaceship.

I wish someone could talk.

We take Uskudar with Sun Tzu.

1788AD - Combat settler found a town inside Babs bordrs near Nineveh.

Lose a few valuable tanks taking Nineveh.

Another failed attempt of stealing. :sad:

1890AD - Osman join Russia against Babylon.

Finally someone wants to talk. Babs get 85gpt for peace and Amphibious Warfare.
Sell them some luxes and junk for 35gpt.

Take Izmit, Osman is OOC.

Since we got wines, lots of specialists can be changed. I couldn't be bothered with one more MM'ing turn and leave that joy to next player :) Also current builds can be changed to factories? And other stuff.

We have a combat settler near Bursa.

Our first 2 carriers are in Isin, they should be moved to the east-coast.

Babs and Russia have 6 parts finish, none started.

Sorry for leaving the game as it is, but this was some gruelling turns.

Ottomans should be gone next turn. Don't forget the combat settler.

Goz - Well Played! Osman down to an OCC!! Now we just need to stop those spaceships.

We had best plan on another war with the Babs in 20 turns.
 
Preflight check: Moscow will be a very tough nut to crack. We need Rocketry so we know where the Aluminum is located. Also, some tactical nukes would be nice so Space Next? We can research in 7T or do immediate steals every 3T.

IBT: Lots of Russian bombers. Shoot down 1, Market in Ur is destroyed. Aydin flips to the Ottomans, taking a bunch of stuff inside.

T1: 1792AD Found Ottahere. Redline everything in Bursa with Arty, then reduce it to Pop12.
No healthy tank armies, so tanks will do.
Vet Tank kills ToW (4/4); vet tank kills ToW and promotes (3/5); vet tank kills ToW (4/4); vet tank kills ToW and promotes (3/5); elite tank kills redlined Infantry and we take the city + 358g + Arty

Immediate steal on the Ottomans fail :(

Ottomans are dead.

Take another 45 minutes to MM and figure out where to put our troops. Peace with Vikings expires in 6T. We should have enough gold for another steal next turn.

IBT: Shoot down 3 bombers, but none at Ur. Palace gets some shade.

T2: 1794AD Try an immediate steal from Russia, succeed and take Rocketry :) Now we know where the Al is located. See that we have 2 sources, but Russia only has 1! Switch a couple of builds to Nuclear Subs. Maybe we can sneak in and nuke their aluminum. Babylon has 2 sources but they will be taken soon enough.
Upgrade 1 Flak in Ur to a Mobile SAM.

IBT: Destroy 3 bombers, 1 at Ur :)

T3: 1796AD Move workers. I cannot wait for those factories in the core to finish.

T4: 1798AD Sink 4 Russian destroyers and a transport, losing 1 bomber.

IBT: Umma completes our 1st Factory :)

T5: 1800AD Try an immediate Steal on Russia and fail. They also caught our spy.

Nice progress. Who'd of thunk we had a shot. Let's press on with the Viking war when peace is up.
 
@grahamiam, :goodjob: this is an amazing game, really. I would NEVER have thought we would get this far, once we got stuck at the outside of Ottoman iron city.
I can't wait to take the snort out of evil Russia and bomb them back.

T10: 1810AD Nada. Building a transport in Oslo but it’ll be a while. May want to add workers to speed up the build.

I have 2 settlers waiting near Ottahere. Also, Ur and Umma are setup at around 60spt to spit out Marines, however, we lack transports (also, Ur was just setup so 1 more tank for that city). We also need to figure out a route to Russia that has a chance in hell :)

2 carriers are in Zabalam, they peak out 4 tiles and the bombers can carpet-bomb the AL + all tiles around it (near Yakutsk). Expect to lose 1 or 2 bombers each turn due to fighters. Also, there's a bomber in town that should be loaded into the Hornet before the next run.

So we're up against 80K or Space. I'll work towards an invasion of Russia. Of course I'll need to use the Viking island as a stepping stone :D

for the moment, we simply need to keep Babs alive due to culture. We should be able to catch up, if we start razing Russian towns.

So, we need to prevent Babs from having the resources to build the spaceship or take out their capital at one point of time. Once we have more than 50% of Russia, we should be save.

The initial landing will be tough though.

I am trying to figure out a way to get rid of these &%$#@@# Russian bombers.
 
This is a very good game, and I would definitely consider it a candidate for the legendary games thread. Just as long as you win. ;)
 
Winning may be a miracle. It is looking grim at the moment. Cathy has 8 SS parts, and I can't get a fleet together to sail to Moscow.
