GP Series Part 2: The War Poets

All right, so here's what happened.

I tried to play a little bit ahead with the goal of getting a few rounds up. My goal was to get to "brass tacks," if you will--getting to the Artist-producing part of the game in earnest.

Basically, to make a long story short, it sucked and wasn't any fun, and I got beaten to the Parthenon by Roosevelt (who has marble in his capital).

So I'm going to defer instead to WelshGandalf's Pericles the Cool as the definitive Artist game. I've played this variation, and it seems like the only one where an Artist-centered Domination strategy would be viable. Or at least fun.

I want to get another one going in the next couple of days, and I'm leaning strongly towards Merchants. I'll let you all know!

Sorry to hear that, but it's understandable. Artists don't have a great deal of use outside of starting golden ages or in cultural games. They kind of suck. Good luck with the next game though, that should be much more fun I would imagine.
