[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

I've played to the Modern era of first game with this mod and I have to say its excellent. I used to not be able to stand the post-gunpowder units because they all looked identical and it just made the game feel way too generic. This mod adds some flavor to the game and keeps it interesting at the end.

So the new version has to be installed differently? I'm confused.

What do you mean?
It is a standalone version, meaning you can forget versions prior to v2.0 (i.e. delete it)

I understand, but it's pretty hard for me to get to the bottom of the problem when there are no error messages. All that is wrong is that the graphics don't display.

I'm wondering, could you recommend a program to de-compress the files you included? Because if I could do that, I might be able to find out what's wrong.

So, none of the new graphics display...Somebody should confirm this. Either it has to be installed differently or the new version repackaged in a way so it will work, or a component of this mod is messing things up?

Or are there no problems? I guess I got confused by a few recent posts here.

Thanks!

Different music? It wasn't in the scope of this mod... what kind of music are you thinking on?

I know...not in the scope...makes sense...It was just a thought...There are a few soundtracks I don't like in here

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\Sounds\Soundtrack\Medieval

Would you know if I can just get my own MP3's and then rename them to the original named files in this folder and then they would play ok? Seem so anyway...

Thanks.

There is at least one other person here for whom the new graphics did not work. I do not know what may be wrong; I can try unpacking the files, but from what I read, that isn't the problem. I've had a whole slew of problems with other mods, so I'm close to writing Firaxis a technical support letter.

Nice mod. Does the 2.0 version have the latest mod parts in it from Ethically diverse units & Artstyles? In the first post it says it does but the Artstyles readme included says it's version 1.02 rather than 1.07.

So far, one bug found in version 2.0 for me, when playing a quick game as Byzantines. The Cataphract UU icon is the Destroyer icon now.

In fact it s not the only one, I already fixed a lot of icons but some remain...

Yes, sadly the icons still need work. I'm still open to receive some more help with this... ;) (and thanks once more for the work you did!)

Yes, it most probably won't help to unpack the files. I'd like to help, but (to me at least) it seems it's not a mod related error....

The thing that can cause confusion is that the Artstyles mod includes units - but I'm using only the different town graphics. So as far as it's not related to town graphics, changes in Artstyles does not concern this mod... (so you can say it's 1.07)

Woohoo! Another convert. By any chance, was it my recommendation of Varietas Delectat in the thread which you made asking for more variety in unit graphics over in BTS General?

Thanks guys, I'm happy you like the mod! I hope to bring even more variety as I intend to continue with mech. units.

I thought you might like a sneak peak into the next version's canoe I patched together using two other(superb) units:

First; thanks for this great mod. It looks really good. Highly appreciated!

Secondly; I am currently using the Earth 192x120 mod thing (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=231788), but is it possible to load this mod next to it? And if so, how do I do this?

Cause I want to use these both. :D

Let me know and thanks again for the great mod!

HHawk, someone else wanted to add that map to my mod, so I analysed this a bit (and included it in 0.55).

See post #92 here.

The link is still valid, move everything from the Diversica dir to the VD dir and you should be all set. Please check that none of the files already exist in the VD structure (I assume they don't, if they do, do NOT move anything).
