[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

I get the same CTD w/ several different mods I've tried whenever I exit the game. I think it might be some sort of caching issue.

AVAIN, I can't wait for the next installment. Being that I'm too lazy to unpack the fpk files, are you using some of the units from the 43 (47?) Religion mod? Saw some cool prophets and the like in there, that if they haven't already been included in VD 3.5 would make nice additions.

Well I've only had a quick look at it (and looked at the unit graphics in world editor thing, hence the request to nick some of them!) but one thing that made me think it must still be a work in progress was that the civilopedia comes out distorted (e.g. leaderheads all squashed horizontally) and with some blank pages and some garbled text.

The squashed look is due to Sevopedia, so that won't get changed (unless they change it). You could easily remove the Sevopedia however (simply delete the Python dir under Assets).

I just checked my leaders and there are two which do not show up properly, Akbar, he should not be in in the first place (he is not assigned to any civ, I just used him for testing and forgot to remove him ;) ) and some barbarian leader who looks suspiciously like Sid and is actually defined in regular BtS (including missing his txt).

That they do show up must be due to Sevopedia too (as otherwise Sid would show up in the regualr game as well).

Akbar will be removed, thanks for the heads-up (getting rid of Sevopedia probably would get rid of all these issues as well). If you stumble across any other oddities, let me know ;)

Don't know if you saw my second post, but there's also the 'hills' entry in sevopedia saying 'you can't build cities here' and the air units stats not fitting the box. Plus the 'Minor Civ' entry just has a 'tag' in place of the text.

Plus I think I prefer the scaling of the naval units in VD rather than Diversica. I think they are different.

Still I think I was too quick to judge, based on a quick look at the 'pedia.

No; I have not seen your second post. All of this is directly due to sevopedia, the hill text (and missing minor civ text) actually must be somewhere within regular civ, it certainly is not any of my texts / changes.

Blame it on sevopedia for trying to show more info than the regular pedia and Firaxis laziness in skipping some stuff which doesn't show up in theirs :)

If this bothers you, delete the Assets/Python dir and you won't notice these Firaxis glitches as you will revert back to the regular pedia.

PS, don't mean to offend anyone, just loaded it up and to be honest I think I judged it too quickly the first time, though I think I just happened to look at exactly the few bits that have problems.

Fine by me, I am not easily offended :)

All the following are in the civilopedia...

and all except for Akbar are regular civ glitches which are exposed by the use of Sevopedia instead of the regular pedia (apart form the squashed leaderhead and blank unit upgrades, which are a problem of sevopedia, fixed the leaderheads today and will include it in the next release).

EDIT: the blank unit upgrades must be some kind of modular xml problem, they display correctly for regular civ.

Anyway, apologies for any offence to the mod maker (is that you?) for judging it too hastily.

Yes that is me. None taken, as I said, remove the Python dir and you won't notice these civ glitches :)

A small teaser, I retextured Zerver's Babylonian Marines:
