[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

I didn't want to wait for news and I updated anyway. Up to now I've been playing a game with the Greeks up to 1500 AD and I don't see a problem, the units are there, I don't have crashes, it's all good... Maybe there is some obscure thing missing or I don't know what, but I can play fine without noticing anything. But then I don't notice when Shaka has too much on his hands too so...

your probably only missing the xml changes like the destroyer npt upgrading and the airships doing less damage etc.
 
Heres the fixed VD Civ4UnitInfos.xml for 3.17
Compared VD vs 3.13, applied changes in 3.17 file.

No other files have differences.

For sanity/convenience sake, it is named
Civ4UnitInfos.xml.317 :-) Chop off the 317 (rename it)
Drop it into VD's mod folder.

hey, i love this mod.

only one thing. i was wondering if there is an older version that is compatible with vanilla civ iv?

or which one can you recommend for vanilla that does the same thing? mind you i've tried this one and i like it the best in BtS, but at the moment i'm doing something with vanilla.

edit: i also don't mind making it compatible with civ iv, however there are some things i need to know. what are the most important changes in xml schema that were made from civ iv to bts besides "<UnitArtStyleType></UnitArtStyleType>"? and does the latter play a big role because it obviously isn't available in vanilla. i've got a bad feeling about this because i think that's how your mod applies the unique art to the units and it's vital.
 
Most Vanilla and Warlords mods, halted at 1.61 & 2.08. I never used mods for the brief time I had vanilla before getting warlords+

If there are ones available, they will more than likely require updates to bring it to 1.72 compliance. This could prolly be made 1.72 compilant, by unpak'ing the Art files, deleting the civ-art that doesn't exist in Vanilla, repak'ing the art, and deleting the civ's that don't exist (and their units in UnitInfos).
 
yea i did a little search and it's really pointless.

however, the intention i originally had changed, so everything is fine and i can use this mod.

it's SUPERB by the way. i love the greek units so much. thanks!
 
Yep, it's as modular as I could make it be. Ethnic Artstyles uses a couple of XMLs that are not compatible with modular format though.

What exactly is it using that is not modular compatible?
 
There's a problem with your file Balderstrom: when at full health melee units only show 1 man correctly while the other 2 are the normal ones. When injured only the normal ones show up.
 
@ OneDreamer: not sure what you mean. If you recently patched to 3.17 though - almost all of your game Options (CTRL-O) were reset, and need to be checkBoxed again.

I haven't seen any issues in the game I've been playing.

The problem is that in melee units formations, only 1 out of 3 units will show the "diverse" model.

not correct. i've been playing this mod with the updated xml (great work btw) and it works fine and i've even butchered it to apply it to a personal mod of mine and it still works brilliantly.

anyhow are we ever going to see this mod incorporated into Rhye or at least compatible? that would be phenomenal.
 
I don't play from yesterday, I know the options. Some melee units don't work. Check egyptian and japanese warriors, for example.
 
So, I had this mod working perfectly with 3.13. I updated to 3.17 and installed Balderstrom .xml in place of the existing one. Yes, I renamed it and placed it in the correct folder. I have the problems described on 2 different computers. Did you reinstall the mod perhaps, or something different ?

anyhow are we ever going to see this mod incorporated into Rhye or at least compatible? that would be phenomenal.

Actually it is already, check the mod's forum.
