[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

i was wondering if there is an older version that is compatible with vanilla civ iv?

VD is an expansion of Ethnically Diverse Units MOD Beyond the Sword Edition v3.14 and Ethnic Artstyles mod v1.09.

Here is an older version of White Rabbit's Ethnically Diverse Units mod(v.2.18); it is «compatible with Civilization IV 1.61 and Warlords 2.08».

Guess what? Geo's added the Russian city graphics to his Ethnic cities mod, so be sure to integrate that next update!

Ok, I returned to modding work, as it seems that Chuggi's gonna take like year 2525 to post his update :P (sorry, just kidding, Chugg ;) )

On a more serious note I updated the mod to 3.17, integrated the Ethnic Citystyles mod, added a couple of units.
I still need to make it clean and also probably include some of the cool new units posted during last month.

You can always wait a day after I release my mod... just to keep with tradition! Releasing mine always seems to cause a flood of new stuff to show-up... of course I have a few surprises in my own!

I got the impression from one of your posts that you're gaining exclusive rights to some new creations... ;)

I've got maybe an hour of work left before it's ready for prime time... then there's the whole issue of waiting for help from Xeno, which may not come till Tuesday or Wednesday, so I could possibly pop it out today, or wait another day or two for one more (good) enhancement. Lord give me patience!

And yes... after waiting till late May or early June, I'm fairly convinced Chugg meant late May or early June of some other year... possibly 2525 AD.

P.S.
Yes, I plan on popping out some new models that haven't been seen in a BtS mod to my knowledge... and I fully expect they will be promptly pillaged by everybody once I release. I'm surprised I'm the first in the BtS community to find these little gems though! ;)

hey theres mixed icon in this mod where the aztec axe men icon is displayed as a asian building.

updated to v4.0

Hi guys, this release was really overdue.
I had extreme troubles, thanks especially to PackBuild tool not working with Vista, so most probably I'll ask for help on packing the art (currently it's packed the way I could)...

Please report any problems...

updated to v4.0

Hi guys, this release was really overdue.

It was, with yours, Wolfs and my mod now all happily released for 3.17, the release of CD 2.1 must be imminent (Chuggi, are you reading this ? ;) )

ouch, remind me to never upgrade to that sorry excuse for an OS that is Vista

Well, he already made close encounters with the Vulcans, so it must be close now (to 2525) :)

If you want to use PackBuild, then don't...
Actually, it's not (that) bad, just you might stumble upon something not working, so it's a gamble... ;)

Can you execute PackBuild with compatibility mode? Or does that not function like it did in XP to compat to Win2K|98|95 ?

I believe I tried all the compat. modes available, even those not relevant. I also tried with the Win2000 version + Win2000 compat.

I split the art files, managed to compress some ( on the 3215154 attempt), but some are just not going. Most of the time it seems it does nothing. When it does, it deletes the fpk afterwards. It's insane. Stupid-stupid tool. I wasted hours on it.

You haven't tried everything yet...

If you still have your WinXP disc floating around, why not use Virtual PC... you can run your old WinXP OS in a window of WinVista... it's an official Microsoft Product, and it's FREE. It will run everything WinXP runs, because YOU ARE RUNNING WINXP (just in a Window of Vista). I used to use it all the time to run Win98SE in a window of XP... the new version now runs older OS's in Vista.

Umm, ok, I can try that I guess.
I had similar problems with my PDA software...

It'll need to be compressed. Either throw the zipped art files up onto one of the fileShare sites and someone (or myself) can pack them. (If the virtualPC doesn't pan out).

I tried running VD with unpacked art once ;-) I think the game took ~20 mins to get to the mainscreen *chuckle* And there was no noticeable difference in memory usage after the game was loaded and run for a few turns.

So is the new version with Russian architecture available for download yet?
