Okay, sorry to make you waste your time. I found the problem, with the original Bad Arnolds Flag Mod there was a file you place under CustomAssets/XML/misc called Civ4DetailManager that slightly increased the size of the flags, I took that out and it appears to work fine now. Thanks for your help.
Dang now i have to go thru everything you did, and make little changes in all the XML files, darn it. I was hoping i could just plop it in and start working, but alas.

Now i have to go into the tech and see what you changed to add there cause i have a BIG tree, go thru Combatinfo file and add there, units folder see what is changed there, etc.
All i really wanted was the units to be added is all.
Ok, admittedly I have not looked at VD5 yet, but as far as I know it still is just custom unit art, all the other changes come with MEE only. So as long as you focus on VD5 without MEE, I do not see techs etc. getting in your way.
Yes, you would have unit art in the FPKs for units which do not get used as you miss their tech, but xml wise you should be fine. What am I missing here ?

How big is your tree if I can ask ?

Noticed in your ArtDefines that four units were left out, dont know if this will make a difference or not?
