[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

Yep, but there's 3 tags:
Early, medieval and late.
Does Renaissance count as late?

Not as it is now. But if you add a "dummy" era on the right spot (after future era I believe), renaissance era becomes the onset of the middle tag, and modern era the onset of the late tag.
Also, if you make Gunpowder a medieval tech, those musketman will switch to another graphic once the first Renaissance tech is researched.
Btw, adding a dummy era doesn't change gameplay in any way.

amazing that you figured that out. yet why didn't firaxis do the tags to be <era></era? and you specify the era. a lot of things could be made looser - yield tags defining the yield..oh the possibilities.

Actually, Dom Pedro II learned me that little tidbit.
And I think the Community Civ V mod started something on a unit artstyle/era, but the code was together with the rest of the SDK changes, and the era-only sdk he created on my request was somehow faulty for me. Never heard back since then. I don't know if the creator ever continued it...
And you're so right about your wishfulness on Firaxis... :shake:

Ok, thanks.
Do you per chance know which unit(s) have this white smoke?

try ATTACHABLE_SUBMARINE_DAMAGE_SMOKE (it greyish white - direct white smoke was an effect, didn´t work here, my fault :( ) and rescale the ATTACHABLE_DAMAGE_SMOKE node in the nif to 0.5 or smaller

I have BUG 3.6 installed and Better AI 0.60 merged into it - is it possible to use this mod at the same time or might it cause any problems?

I ask because I encountered a problem where saved games used to crash on loading when I had BAT 1.1 installed, and EmperorFool thought it might be down to a problem with one of the civ units in VD 4.0, which was part of BAT 1.1?

May I just sidetrack you for one moment, Mr Jackson, this, what should I call it, nickname of yours...
TwoSheds.
How did you come by it?

Hmm, I think I'll just restore the default Knight animation to the English Knight, instead of that new BTS European Knight animation. The former looks slightly more "universal".

And some of the more modern VD units, like the VD Riflemen, are a li-i-i-itte bit too small and skinny.

VD Rifleman - for England, or what...?

Ok, it seems you're in no mood for jokes.
I think there should be no problems.
Although everything is possible, but I'd still say it's highly improbable that your problems were due to a unit.

I meant Ethnically Diverse Riflemen (VD = Varietas Delectat).

All the riflemen looked ok to me.

But I do have a question....what happened to The Coyote's Gato sub for the Americans? In was in 4.0 but I didn't see it in 5.0. :dunno:

Good question. I myself was wandering if I already added some units before or not when I was making v5... Could it be I did some changes still after v4 and forgot?
Nevermind, so Gato is missing now, ok, I'll add it to the list of needed changes for the next patch/version.

Please, keep the reports coming (I did not forget the ones you already sent)

@all:
Also, please report any unit size discrepancies.

But I still don't understand you.

VD Machinegunners, Riflemen, Infantries and Grenadiers look a bit thinner and less physically fit then other units. They need a very slight increase in size.

Look how fat and strong the Musketter looks, and how thin, skinny and weak the Machinegunner looks. The latter needs a very small increase in scale.

I was playing a game the other day, and one of my opponents were the Native American indians, I noticed their drednaughts looked exceptionally large. You might want to check that out.
