[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

first of all I want to add myself to all of those who congratulated with you for your wonderful mod, it's the one and only I'm playing with since I saw it!
there are a coulpe of things that I've noticed that may be useful to furhter improve your work:
- the russian pre-dreadnought appears in the game as a large red baloon, don't know if this happens to me only;
- although all of the units are very beautiful, there's only I really don'tlike it's the german bomber (I think the He-117) it looks to dark and somehow "different" in flavour if compared with the others...maybe it could be changed with the bomber you made for Hungary, which is very very beautiful..

Yes, the German bomber seemed I bit odd to me, too, I might change it in the next release.

Hi! first of all: great work so far. But i realized a graphic problem. the ottoman modern rifles seem corrupted somehow. infantry, machine gunner and rifleman aren´t displayed correctly. they optically switch from default to reskin randomly. e.g. when selcted they show up correctly, but when zooming out, they show up as default. so there seems to be something wrong with the nif file.

unbelievable... how did you do that? :lol:

well, i forgot to mention that it only happens with "frozen animations". so it might affect other units aswell. i think it´s some of bakuel´s units, at least.

EDIT: ok, i think i found the reason. if kfm and nif files don´t share the same drawer. it´just a thought. still has to be verified....

Yes, it was as I feared. With all the units used in this mod, it was impossible to assure it would work with frozen animations... :(

the russian pre-dreadnought issue was fixed, maybe from version 3.2 to 3.3 it went ok or else I don't know, I hope I did not make you waste your time looking after it.
Now there are a couple more suggestions you may find useful:
- both the battleship of Germany and the cruiser (which I think is the same for every nation) look somehow darker than the other ships, though the design is perfect so i might suggest you just to clear them a little bit...
- the French supersonic fighter (strenght:20) is much smaller than other planes, nearly invisible when using a medium zoom;

Again, great Mod!:) This is indeed how the game should look when you buy it. One small detail I've seen so far. The Sumerian Knight uses the Icon of the Cuirrasier, and it's animations are not correct. Try attacking an archer or a longbowman with this Knigt. It wil slash the sword in the air from a stance position and the archer gets killed from a distance. And it's not a Star-Wars light sword :D Just a tiny minor glitch :cool:
 
I posted this in the wrong thread (pardon me for that) so using this mod...

I have noticed that on occasion (or always?) that Fighters are mislabeled as Airships. In other words, the messages says "Your Airships did so and so" but the unit is really a Fighter.

This happened with Willem for me and with another CIV (I forget which) so I think this is a small bug.

Exactly, I just went down a known path;) Thanks, Chuggi, for the Cultural Diversity! I was quite reluctant to release a new VD, because essentially that's what your CD was improving, but then I included GeneralMatts new ships and also done some re-merging of Ethnic Artstyles, and also some new shields;) and error corrections.

And yep, ME v3.4 will be coming for sure!

Btw, your readme files states you use Ethnic Artstyles 1.07?

Except for a selected 3 or 4 units I only use the buildings anyway, but I did base it on 1.09, so I must have missed that in the readme.
I'm waiting for you to add building graphics again, that's your resort anyway:p ;) :goodjob:

Ok, I'd also talk about an issue I found with the updated stables with horses building:
- it breaks arcologies (ya' know, the NextWar stuff). I.e. it makes some HUGE arcologies to appear if the city has this modified stables in it. So I'd assume that the .nif file somehow has some issues that says the arcologies that it should be really big to fit. I did some lame attempts at correcting it (like removing one of the horses and the shadows, but it did not help). So if you know how to correct this, it would be cool!
