I've never heard of Wild Driver.

What is your graphics card?

(If you don't know, go to run and type in (without quotes) "dxdiag" and it will be in there. Then go to it's manufacturors website and update your drivers.

Run dxdiag and post over at the official EU3 forums. There might be a weird issue with your particular brand of graphics card.

As for OP. Try installing the DirectX that came with the...oh, noticed you're playing the demo.
Look for the latest DirectX 9 on microsofts site.
