Great General Idea

I got an idea for a modpack, but unfortunately it far surpasses my modding skills, so I thought I would post it here and see if anyone wanted to take a crack at it.

We all know the three main options a Great General can do. Join the city, Join a unit, or build a Military Academy. But what if there was a fourth option? What if a Great General could make their own unit?

I was thinking that it would be cool if a Great General could spawn a super unit with 10 starting EXP, instead of dividing the EXP up among units in the tile. the super unit would be similar to other units, but have slightly different graphics and statistics, so even unupgraded they are slightly better then a standard unit. Some examples:

Super Unit: Klijist
Base Unit: Swordsman
Differences: 7 Strength base. +10% Attack on all tiles.

Super Unit: Dragoon
Base Unit: Pikeman
Differences: 8 Strength base. 2 Movement. Can obtain both Melee and Mounted promotions.

Super Unit: Fusiler
Base Unit: Musketeer
Differences: +20% Defense on all tiles. +10% versus Gunpowder units.

Super Unit: Dreadnought
Base Unit: Battleship
Differences: 45 Strength base. +100% City Bombardment Damage.

Ummm... hate to break it to you, but Battleships (as modeled in Civ4, based on WWII Battleships) are a LOT tougher/newer/more-powerful then any Dreadnought... the term "Dreadnought" itself being directly linked to WWI capital ships... all of which were clearly inferior to their WWII Battleship cousins in tonnage, armor, speed and firepower.

Jesus... it's just a name - the concept still holds

Sounds good, I would add a little more (a modern land unit, a classical naval, etc). Of course balance would be a problem, but that will be fixable with beta testing. As for how to do it, probably python.
